A visit to this museum is a must when visiting Swellendam. We were very surprised that the museum was open on Saturday, a public holiday. (It was open on Sunday) The entrance fee was very reasonable and we could visit all 3 parts of the museum and only pay once. My husband enjoyed the corridor with all the maps in the Drosdy building but the exhibit about slaves was a bit disappointing. I liked visiting Mayville House with all the Victorian furniture and the different wallpapers in each room. The Old Goal and Ambagswerf were also interesting. We also liked the Museum shop and bought a few books about the history of the town. The staff were very friendly and gave us lots of information.
