“owner is a looney”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed September 1, 2010

The food is great - probably the best pizza in the area. But the owner spoils the whole atmosphere, he seemed to be under the influence and was noisy and we could hear how he talked to the staff - not great

“Will never go there again”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed August 5, 2010

As a resident of Somerset West I have often passed this restaurant. A while ago, on the evening we decided to visit we were sorely disappointed. The lady who escorted patrons to their tables was dressed quite tacky and it soon became apparent that one of the owners was under the influence of some kind of substance. Shortly after we had placed our order, the owner started to shout at the kitchen staff so loudly that the restaurant went quiet for a few moments. This continued until we approached our waiter and complained. The second owner came to our table to apologize for his partner's behaviour. I have two small children. If I want to listen to screaming and arguments, I could have stayed at home. Instead, I chose to have a nice evening out with my husband, but had to listen to a drunken argument caused by an owner who clearly could not control himself and who had absolutely no respect for the people who work for him or those who pay to enjoy a meal in his restaurant. Fortunately, there are many other, far superior restaurants in the area, such as Henri's, so one does not need to put up with this.

“Still waiting...”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed July 30, 2010

We ordered - and waited... and waited... The table next to us seemed to have the same problem. Three were tucking in, the fourth waited. When our food eventually came, no excuse or explanation was offered. The good quality of the food was surpassed by the poor service.

“Disaster”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed February 20, 2010

Our joint starter - a shared aubergine pizza took 45 minutes to come to the table. The staff visited us every five minutes to apoligise for the delays with no rational explanation. The three of us then sat for another hour before our main dishes was served. The staff kept apoligising but when you watch others being served who have come in after you, you begin to wonder. When it arrived - the simple lasagne dish was tepid with a strange tasting sauce and a cold plate; my 'Micks Special' lacked any prawns and calamari and had to be sent back for them to be added it also had a cold plate. The accompanying chilli mix was the only thing that was hot that night.. The veggie pizza was nicely baked
