“A beautiful setting”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed February 19, 2013

A beautiful Cape Dutch Wine Estate type Hotel , which has a residential and Golf Course attached to it. The hotel is on the side with a separate entrance, so one never sees the Golf course really.

The welcome was very warm, and enthusiastic. The room was a bit disappointing though ( dated and no modern facilities ie minibar, very few plugs,no wifi, no face cloths and no turndown service). The rooms are big and comfortable though.

A nice boutique hotel hotel in secure grounds near Somerset West. My only complaints were the wireless internet was non-existent in the room and poor even in hotel reception and bar. Also, my room was quite near the road and suffered car noise and finally the room aircon wasnt powerful enough to cope with the local high summer temperatures.

Room Tip: Ask to be as far away from the road as possible.

in february 2013 we again stayed at this hotel which gave us excellent service in advance by booking golf, loaning golf clubs and arranging stephanies restaurant in advance. we stayed in room 29 as we have done for many years which is a great air conditioned room en suite with a nice balcony to sit on outside. the service was as great as ever with no request being a problem. we eat in the irish pub with good food and enjoyed the breakfasts.
we will continue to use and recommend this hotel in future.

Room Tip: we recommend downstairs room with a verandah and have always cosen rooms 28 and 29

We stayed here as part of a wedding so our main criteria wasn't access to Cape Town. The hotel is sited an easy half drive along the N2 East of Cape Town Airport. If your priority is the Wine region, Golf and whale watching in Gordon's bay then you are ideally situated. Saying that though I cannot see that a drive into Cape Town would be that bad for a day out.
The Hotel itself is lovely, old Dutch Colonial buildings set in its own grounds and gardens with a a beautiful mountain back drop. Rooms are clean, tidy and large, dated maybe but that just adds to the charm. Food is excellent, and the staff very friendly and welcoming. Service can be a little slow but for us it wasn't a problem it added to the charm again of the whole stay.
My wife loved the Spa, which counted as excellent compared to those that she uses in London, so well worth booking when you stay
All in all this a place of character that will leave you charmed with memories.

The facilities, staff and service are exceptional; its location is idyllic. As a venue for a quiet, private getaway or a strategy conference ammong corporate executives, the setting and support offer just what is required.

Room Tip: When you book, speak with Randall.

We had a great time at Erinvale. The staff were fantastic, very welcoming and helpful. Breakfast was great although a bit slow at times. We enjoyed eating in the pub on our first night - the food is good value pub food (burgers, steak etc). The rooms were very comfortable, well decorated and with fabulous showers in the en suite. All in all a great hotel.

We booked nearly all the rooms at Erinvale for our wedding guests. It was absolutely perfect and really fun to have everyone staying in the same place as us. We found all the staff to be extremely helpful and accommodating. The bridal suite was really lovely to get ready in and the hotel made us feel very special. We enjoyed being pampered at the spa and loved the Cape Dutch architecture and the stunning backdrop.
