“Highly Reccomended, Welcoming, Beautifully Located”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 11, 2011

We visited Nenya in February 2011 and had such a wonderful stay. The whole house is beautifully decorated and our room was just perfect. We had a room that opened up onto the pool with beautiful views across the valley. The guest lounge was next to our room and was well equipped with an honesty bar, fridge, wine cooler, microwave, dining table, lounge area, games and lots of local information and tourist leaflets/brochures.

Lynette was very welcoming and contacted us before our arrival to welcome us and offer arrival advice. We enjoyed a lovely breakfast in a serene setting before exploring the Western Cape, Cape Point, Simons Town, Table Mountain and Cape Town which are all easily accessible. One day we drove up towards Paal and Franschhoek and spent some time visiting vineyards. This was an easy drive that took less than 1 hour. We enjoyed a fine selection of cheeses for lunch while sampling the wine selection at Dieu Donne Vineyard (http://www.dieudonnevineyards.com/). Some days we found it so hard to leave the relaxing and peaceful surroundings of Nenya and spent the whole day by the pool.

Lynette was a big help to us for planning our days. We had a basic idea of what we wanted to do but Lynette's local knowledge and helpful advice made it very easy for us to plan our days and visit the places we were interested in. She also gave us a her own day long inventory with directions and information for exploring the villages along the cape and cape point and helped us to arrange e-tickets for Cape Mountain, which can help bet the queues during busy times.

Hout Bay itself is an excellent location. Everywhere is so easily accessible from here, there are some lovely Restaurants (Chapmans Peak Hotel was very nice and Dunes is in a lovely location), and the beaches look lovely. There is also a Craft Market on a Sunday that is definitely worth a visit, though many of the sellers can be seen along the roadside on the drive up the coast to Cape Town on any day.

If you are planning a trip to Cape Town I would definitely recommend Nenya Guest House and Hout Bay. Before our visit we had no idea of where to stay and feel very lucky to have found this little gem. We hope to go again soon and there is no other place we would prefer to stay than Nenya.

Thank you Lynette and Coco once again for making us feel so welcome and for helping to make our holiday so perfect.

We spent 4 nights at the Nenya on our arrival in South Africa. Just what we needed - time to relax after our long journey, a warm welcome from Lynette (and Coco, the dog!), beautiful, peaceful surroundings with stunning views over the Table Mountain National Park. Lovely garden and good-sized swimming pool. Just a five-minute drive to Hout Bay. Lynette was extremely helpful about information on things to do and places to see. We would definitely go back!

Dear Lynette, thank you so much for your hospitality when we recently stayed with you at Nenya´s! We really enjoyed the days we spent at your wonderful Guesthouse, the delicious breakfast, tastefully decorated rooms (we stayed in a suite with the pool right in front) and the beautiful location of your home close to all attractions of the Cape Town area. We had wonderful night sleeps at Nenya´s and we will definitely recommend your Guesthouse to all of our friends! You made us feel very welcome and we all loved Coco - what a wonderful Labrador! See you soon!

I have stayed at Nenya three times, my most recent visit being for a month in September 2010. Each time, it just gets better and better! What a gorgeous place to rest and relax! Views from the balcony are stunning over the valley - really picturesque. During my visits, I have stayed in one of the downstairs suites, which overlooks the pool and garden. Beautifully decorated, with great attention to detail. Felt very homely. Lovely and quiet too. Breakfast can be enjoyed on the balcony - and what an outlook that is - beautiful and relaxing! Cape Town is only a 20 minute drive away, and I also enjoyed visiting Simonstown, Kalk Bay and Camps Bay whilst staying in Hout Bay. Lots of choice for dining out too. Hostess very knowledgeable on things to do, although there is always the option of relaxing by the pool! Would not hesitate to recommend this lovely guest house and, in fact, looking forward to returning again next year for another visit.

We spent nearly a week at Nenya and really enjoyed Lynne's company. The breakfast is lovely, eaten in her lovely dining room/lounge. You can have takeaways delivered or bring your own food in and eat by the pool in the evening or Hout Bay restaurant area is 5 mins drive.
Would certainly recommend - clean comfortable and lovely helpful company.

In March 2010, my husband and I spent 8 idyllic nights at Lynette Hardy's Nenya Bed & Breakfast in Hout Bay, Western Cape, South Africa. The spacious house is gorgeous-elegantly furnished with objects d'art from Lynette's extensive travels. Lynette is a gracious host-warm & welcoming, eager to see to your every comfort AND assist you in making your stay in the Western Cape as fulfilling as possible.

Follow the scented heather hedgerow down to the pool and enjoy a glass or two of South African wine whilst enjoying a fabulous sunset amidst the stunning natural beauty of Hout Bay, delight in sumptuous hot breakfasts (Lynette's lavendar cake is divine), or pull up a chair in Lynette's kitchen for a chat. Coca, Lynette's chocolate labrador may, if your're lucky, join you!

Nenya is such a lovely experience that it is a destination vacation in itself. You will be tempted to stay put and enjoy Lynette's home and hospitality. We left our hearts in Hout Bay-you will, too.

THANK YOU, Lynette and Coca!!
