The „Pescarne“ is simply perfect in every facet. It was the best restaurant we've been to during our two weeks stay in SAF by far. And we went to a lot of fancy restaurants! The owners really deliberated their style very well, especially their menu, which is focused on fish (pesce) and meat (carne) absolutely cooked to perfection! The service is very obliging but in a cool way and whatever they suggested was simply great. These guys just know what they're doing! We were six men (hungry guys!) on a motobiketour and we came back for a second time, taking a cab from the centre of cape town to hout bay just to get there. We've shared all our dishes (4-5 courses each), so i really tried a lot of different things and everything was more than flawless.
The Oysters are great and very fresh, you can have them in like 10 different styles (champagne, martini...), the salad with tuna, mango and freshonions is one of the best composed salads, i've ever ate. So fresh and creative! I especially recommend the venison as a main course for the meatlovers, served with braised, dried fruits and and jus. The Signature Cuisine is also very advisable, with lots of great fish and seafood dishes. advanced foodlovers may choose the „Pescarne signature platter“, which will simply blow your mind. The lambchomps were outstanding as well as the the desserts and cheeses in the end. the sorbets made us go bananas.
The fine cuisine gets perfected by a subtle collection of wines, brands and sparkling wines (try the local instead of moet!!) This newly openend restaurant (since 2 months) is way more than an insider's tip, i'm pretty sure, on our next time in Cape town we'll have to make reservations weeks before ;)
