“Spacious and luxurious”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 11, 2012

This comfortable and well decorated guest house is centrally situated and in walking distance to top restaurants.
The rooms are spacious with under floor heating - a blessing on a winter night, and the fittings modern and new.
We paid extra for a fireplace and a large balcony with lovely views of vineyards which was well worth it.

Had an outstanding stay here for 4 nights in August. Fabulous room, great property and Roel and Lucian the hosts are very helpful. Highly recommend. The fire in room every night was delightful. Room in new extension very spacious and great bathroom. Also really appreciated the security as well. Like a fortress.

We stayed at Plumwood Inn in August for three nights as we were in Franschoek for a long weekend. We had read the reviews on Tripadvisor and we were not disappointed. The room we had was one which is part of the new property and it looked to have just been decorated and done up. It was spacious, the bathroom had a huge bath, big shower and under floor heating. There was DSTV as well as a large selection of DVD's and from our bed we had a view of the mountains.

I would highly recommend this to anyone coming to Franschoek - you will not be disappointed.

Room Tip: Stay upstairs - if you are downstairs you can hear people walking around above you.

We found the Plumwood Inn to be a perfect stay during the SA winter, nice underheated floors and a fireplace in your room for those chilly night. The rooms are luxerious and spacious and give you the feelling of home away from home.

The breakfast is up to par and service is running smoothly. All and all a perfect place for holidays and visiting Franschhoek. An other perk is that you are downtown off the main road (in the peace and quiet), so all your Franschhoek restaurants and shops are in walking distance.

I travelled on my own to spend a well deserved weekend break here. I could not have been made more welcome. The owners are clearly very proud of their establishment and it shows.
I had a lovely big room with an open fire place, and heated flooring. Everything was immaculate. The owner showed me to my room, showed me how everything worked and gave me some tips on local restaurants etc. I'm not a wine drinker which is a bit of a travesty in this area but it was lovely to walk around during the day and have a beautiful quiet room at night.

It was too cold for the pool but there is a lovely mountain view from all the rooms. I could have stayed here for weeks. The breakfast is included and was fantastic and there is also a kitchen where you can help yourself during your stay.

If I am ever back in this area, this is where I would stay, no question.

Lovely place to stay, our visit was short as we arrived late due to weather. The owners were there to greet us and get us settled. They offered very good ideas as to where to go in our short time in town. They even got up early to prepare breakfast and see us off the next morning.

This room was fantastic in every way. Comfortable bed, contemporary look, one of the best bathrooms ever with lots of space and three shower heads. The view could be enjoyed inside or on the deck. Nice to be inside with a cozy fire during a rain storm. Also an easy walk to great restaurants. Lovely stay.
