“Great food, great fun”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 1, 2013

We reserved a table for four 10 weeks in advance. I hadn't noticed that the restaurant had actually confirmed for the wrong month so was devastated when we got there and found no booking! However, to their credit, the management realised the mistake was theirs and hastily arranged an extra table. The degustation menu was outstanding, especially the earlier dishes all of which were vegetarian/sea food. We chose the wine per course option which was great even though we were a bit sozzled by the end of the night. Our waiters, especially Theo and "Skinny', were a hoot - very entertaining and all staff were friendly, responsive, informative. It's very informal - you don't need to dress. The décor is unexpectedly simple but works. The only question is why do the females on the table get different courses and wines in some cases? Seems a bit odd and uncool. Could be misunderstood.

“Excellent cocktail menu”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed September 25, 2013

Very nice setting. Cocktails were nicely presented in front of the customers. However I found the prices a little over the top for the taste and experience eg burnt lemon margarita at R90 was average. However a setting for pre dinner drinks.

Fine dining at its best with extraordinary service! What we appropriated the most was the engaging service we received with a unique meal. Worth every penny spent!

“Sublime”

We had a really good night out. The seafood was the clear winner of the evening and our group really enjoyed it. The service was good and the wine better.

“Le Quartier Gone Missing!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 8, 2013

The new Le Quartier Lounge Bar is somebody's idea of the perfect lounge setting. When we dropped in to have a glass and see the changes we were surrounded by happy customers and the new, modern, minimalist, cold setting. Ugh. This is not a negative review as everything was working and everybody was happy and we were lost as the LeQuartier we loved had gone missing. The atmosphere is horribly modern and so out of place in a village with such class and history. If you don't remember the old Le Quartier you will think you have arrived. For us we have delisted Le Quartier and regret it.
