I previously reviewed Franschhoek Kitchen earlier this year when chef Cheyne was at the helm and believed I couldn't have had a more perfect experience. I was lucky enough to return here this month and sample new chef Maryna's menu, and what a delightful experience that was. The stunning setting remains undisturbed and the staff are as friendly and helpful as previously but Maryna's menu has quite simply taken Franschhoek Kitchen to a new level, utterly sublime.
I had the Crispy Prawn Salad followed by the Duck Duo - out of this world. My companion ordered the Spiced Squid and Prawn Marsala and, like me, could not have been any happier. Fantastic to see the farm's home grown produce included in the menu, and always a real pleasure to sample Holden Manz wines which so perfectly complement the new menu.
This remains my favourite spot for food, wine and good times in the Western Cape.
