“Simply Amazing”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 5, 2014

Myself and my wife are here last night on our honeymoon stop over in the beautiful village of franschoek. We are both big foodies working in the food industry and have nothing but praise for this superb establishment. We sat in front of the kitchen on what would be sold in any Michelin starred establishment as the chefs table. Amazing to watch the team in the kitchen turn out consistently great food both in substance and style directed calmly by Ryan. . The service was superb and attentive led by Mrs Smith. On to the food. We opted for the 5 course surprise menu. Without giving it all away it was superb. Properly thought through and balanced, complemented by some lovely palate cleansers and a complimentary starter. We both work in the food industry and eat in some great places. This was up there with any Gordon Ramsey establishment (our fave). Almost perfect!

“Superb fusion food”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 2, 2014

We loved this place; from the warm welcome on arrival, watching the chefs at work, the fabulous 5 course meal, to the excellent wine, we had a lovely evening. The best dish was the gooseberry soufflé, absolutely divine! This place beats Le Bon Vivant any day.

“Absolutely fantastic!!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 28, 2013

As tourist guide I've been privileged to eat at most (if not all) of the Cape's top Restaurants. As far as fine dining is concerned. This is it! This is the best!

“Pleasant evening”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed December 26, 2013

Enjoyed three of the five courses was not sure about the others (probably just not to my taste???)

You can watch the Chef and Team in action from most of the tables, all very controlled and quiet...

I probably have a preference for La Bon Vivant and Cafe Bon Bon...

“Fantastic amuse-bouche and desserts, disappointing mains”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed December 25, 2013

The watercress amuse-bouche was delicious but for our starters I had tiger prawns whilst my partner had the bobotie pancake, both of which were disappointing. For mains I had a very very rare ostrich (too rare for my liking) whilst my partner had rabbit, which he wasn't blown away by. Overall, we thought the meal was fine but nothing outstanding.
