The staff, always, are very friendly but the food this time, was disappointing. Our duck wraps were dry and we feel the wines are overpriced.

“Good food, great view”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 21, 2011

The food served at Freedom Hills is definitely interesting, but not too fussy. It also doesn't suffer from the pretentious atmosphere most restaurants in Franschhoek seemed to have adopted. It is a cosy, welcoming place with a great view over the mountains.
The pork belly was delicious and the tapas menu provides for tasty starters. The cabernet sauvignon/ pinotage blend was a great find. All at a good price and delivered with friendly attentive service.

“Food and service at this restaurant always fabulous”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 1, 2011

Freeedom Hill has had a face lift and was closed for July & August. It is looking great with the outside tables having a view over the beautiful Simonsberg mountain.Inside has been redone too and is cosier than before.New Tapas menu added to the a la carte is a plus.Best Butter Chicken I've ever had and the chocolate mousse is to die for!!!

“So glad it is our local!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 17, 2011

We live in the Paarl Valley and visit Freedom Hill regularly took our American friends there who also now wish they lived in the Paarl Valley!
We have found the food and service to be top notch - my husband is in a wheel chair - they go so far as to reserve a special parking place so that we have easy access and help him into the restaurant not to mention always having his favourite prawns on hand.
