“The only place to stay in Franschhoek”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 5, 2012

We have been visiting Franschhoek for over twelve years and have always been looking for a place to stay that provides quiet and comfortable surroundings. Franschhoek Manor is clearly now the only place to stay. The property is immaculate and the gardens are quite delightful. Wolfgang and Christina are absolutely charming hostes we only wish that our stay could have been longer, maybe next time!

We loved our 2-night stay at Franschhoek Manor. Christina & Wolfgang were great hosts. As they know the area very well and they are European as well, we were sent to the best restaurants.

They also can suggest the great wineries to visit in the neighbourhood. Christina we really enjoyed to visit the DELAIRE GRAFF ESTATE. That was a fantastic tip you gave us. We also had the oportunity that someone guide us in a golfcart through the wine estate, so we visit the vineyard, the vegetable garden, the hotel, enjoyed the landscaped garden and beautifull statues. You also see that personnel is well trained ! Great experience thansk to Christina ;-)

We also would like to share that Franschhoek Manor has a beautifull garden, full with cosy spaces in it.

Also when we arrved we found 2 Ferrero Rocher in our room, together with drinks to welcome us. There are also fresh flowers and fruit in your room.
Every morning at breakfast your table is nice decorated also with flowers. When it was Valentine we also received red roses on our table and a chocolate. When we returned to our room we found also a box of chocolate in a red heart box. really enjoyed these little gestures.

When we go back to South-Africa, Wolfgang and Christina may expect us !!!

We really enjoyed our 3 night stay at Franschhoek Manor. The setting was stunning and gardens immaculate - it made a great place to sit and relax by the pool or to use as a base to check out the many local vineyards and fantastic restaurants. The rooms were comfortable, spacious and tastefully finished. Christina, Wolfgang and their team made us feel extremely welcome, as did their friendly companions Ben and Timmy. Their restaurant recommendations were excellent and we found that they would only suggest restaurants they enjoyed themselves. Breakfasts were also very good, especially the eggs benedict!

There are very few places that I would return to on holiday but this would definitely be one of them!!

We had four wonderful nights staying here. Everything was perfect! The gardens are beautifully kept with lots of lovely roses and places to sit and chill, which we took advantage of extensively! We stayed in the black room, which was tastefully designed and very comfortable. Wolfgang and Christine were so friendly and helpful and recommended us some excellent restaurants and the wine tasting on horse back, which was magical. Their two wonderful dogs were the icing on the cake - very well behaved with the guests and great to play with!!

Wolfgang and Christina were the perfect hosts. FM is a small but beautiful guest house/B&B. The settings is breathtaking with views across the valley to the hills behind Franschhoek. The gardens are beautifully manicured. There is a lovely pool and veranda and very laid back feel to the whole place. We stayed in the Master bedroom which was spacious and decorated with style. Wolfgang and Christina are the perfect hosts: attentive but not intrusive and always willing to help with advice on places to eat and visit in Franschhoek. We would strongly recommend Franschhoek Manor if you're looking for a quiet stylish place to stay in the area. By the way, Wolfgang does the an amazing breakfast!
