Rooms are spacey and luxurious, the view from terrrace towards the mountains was breathtaking. Quality of dinner and breakfast outstanding (gourmet quality). So all excellent. The only downside is the pricing, both accomodation and meals are overpriced (but for one night not a big deal. All in all highly recommended.

I spent a few nights at Kings Walden in December 2013. The gardens are magnificent and there is an incredible view from the front.

I recomment Kings Walden if you are looking for a relaxed environment where you can just unwind. The restaurant is great too, so you don't even have to leave - just make sure you make reservations!

The area has lots of activities too, I wished I had stayed for longer to explore more.

I did not visit the Spa, but judging by the rest of the hotel - I'm sure it is really great!

We just went up here (we read good reviews!) and spend two nigths at this hotel. Great views, nice rooms, friendly staff and owner. The food was good. The best thing however was the view with the tree. You can't miss it!

The only thing we didn't like is that we had to pay for every cup of rooibos tea we ordered (we are used to drink free tea and coffee in hotels like this)

We spend one night at Kings Walden, as a stop-over between safari lodges, and regretted not to have a bit more time to discover this nice place. From the terrace you have a marvellous view, the gardens are really nice, and we enjoyed to relax in the shade with a cold drink after the long drive. Rooms are nice, with a fire place for cold evenings. We liked the diner, with excellent food, and some very good wines. Breakfast next day was of the same high standard as everything in this lovely place.

This is a stunning property with large, airy rooms, romantic fireplace in the bedroom and great personalized service. The gardens are tranquil and exquisitely plain but lush and full, lots of water features and little paths. You expect fairies at the next turn.

The dinner was amazing - so complete in it's idea and creation. Starter was camembert covered avo, followed by pea soup, springbok shank that dropped off the bone and the chocolate cake to finish was understated, delicate and complete. Yumm...and after that red wine to drift of to the fire!!

The one important improvement required are the directions which, from the website, are far too general. It is in the hills and the address is confusing and even misleading as there is an Agatha St in Tzaneen. So easy to remedy - management?

Living locally, I often visit this place in the afternoons with a couple of friends, to relax and enjoy a cold drink in its wonderful landscaped garden that looks over an incredible view. Its just a totally refined spot to unwind. The gardens are beautiful and its a pleasure just to walk around them. There are plenty of hidden fountains and tables to stop to read, or make light conversation.
When my girlfriend came to visit we stayed over for a night. The rooms are excellent. Luxuriantly furnished with comfortable beds, roaring fireplaces and enormous bathrooms.
The dinner and breakfast were very good, but did not quite reach the heights I had hoped for given the price.
Overall it is a beautiful location, that lends itself very easily to romance. I would certainly recommend staying here if your budget can handle it and if not, at least coming for an indulgent afternoon drink.

I would recomment you to go here. Frendly people, a very nice garden to relax or a good base to make a lot of interresting trips in the regio of tzaneen. The rooms are nice and have a lot of space. Bathrooms are comfortable and very hygienic.
