“Totally original, great relaxed vibe, awesome setting”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 4, 2013 via mobile

Very good seafood, absolutely brilliant setting- a really original idea with wooden benches on the sand and a snug warm fire to warm up chilly days. A little bit out of town but would recommend for anyone who comes to jbay to come and experience this. The atmosphere is awesome - tables close together and a whole bunch of character. Excellent seafood and an amazing all round experience.

“Unique setting, simple seafood.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 30, 2013

M.A.S.H. type tent, in the sand. Beautiful setting right on the beach. Homemade bread and pâté included with any meal. Fish is good, but rice accompaniment a little boring. Good experience though, and definitely better in good weather.

“The Legend Continues”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 28, 2013

Walskipper continues to maintain an excellent offering as a unique on the beach, relaxed quality seafood destination.
It is a must visit restaurant if you are in the area. Although there are many options, We always enjoy the seafood platter(albeit expensive at R500 for two) . Our professional and affable waiter, Sarel, recommended the prawns, ribs and calamari platter for the kids, which was a true hit.
It takes some getting used to drinking your chilled Sauvignon blanc out of an enamel cup but it is all part of the experience.
The location which is a few meters from the waves, the sand floor, the rustic setting and the excellent service are truly special.

“Lovely setting, great view of the sea.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 27, 2013 via mobile

We had an evening meal there last night. It was very pleasant and the service was good. The meal did let the experience down a little. We both had catch of the day and expected a little better quality. The fish was well cooked but being served on the rustic tin plates meant that it got cold very quickly. There are no vegetables served with the meal, only a small ramekin of curried relish. The rustic setting is great. Kick off your shoes and enjoy the sand between your toes. We'll be back but will definitely try other options in the area.
