Dear Mignus,

Thank you for your lovely review. It's so good to hear that you enjoyed the chilled out vibe here at Cristal Cove.

We really do strive to offer guests a pleasant and relaxing stay. It's really important to have clean, affordable luxury accommodation so close to the beach and we are very happy that you were satisfied.

We are always looking for new and interesting ways to spice things up, so we hope to entice you with some of our new themed nights the next time we get to welcome you here in Jbay.

Take care,
The Cristal Cove Team

This is a place that I can truly recommend. I had booked one night but ended up staying for three and I could have stayed longer.

Crystal Cove is a family-run hostel that is neat and clean, serve great food and the people working there warm and friendly.

I took the opportunity to ride on the beautiful, white sand dunes by the sea - a wonderful nature experience, and David from the hotel gave me my very first surf lesson, he is an excellent teacher and I had so much fun!

And Crystal - simply the nicest, most beautiful person ever – I will definitely be back!

Dear Ann Cathrin,

Thank you so much for your wonderful review and the recommendation. It was such a pleasure to host you at Cristal Cove.
We are delighted to hear that you enjoyed the horseriding and the surfing lesson (a must when you're so close to some of the world's best waves!). And indeed, there is so much to do here that 1 night easily turns into 3 nights!

We hope to welcome you back here in Jbay very soon. Take care!

Kind regards,
The Cristal Cove Team

We dropped by Cristal Cove in J Bay for one evening on our way to Chintsa from Cape Town. We paid 500 rand and got a perfect, family style apartment. We loved the place, the bar area was great too. Next time im in J Bay I will stay here for sure

We booked here as Island Vibe backpackers was full - no this is not ON the beach, and does not have the same backpackers vibe, BUT for the cheap price - this was luxury. The view was still on the sea, and the apartment was really nice with comfortable beds, kitchen, living room and nice bathroom and balcony. Lovely staff and nothing to complaint about :)

This is a little gem situated just a short walk away from a beautiful beach. As it is located on the Baz bus route I expected your standard basic backpackers place but this was so much more. We stayed in a spotless double ensuite room with a shared kitchen and living room area for a bargain R300.

The atmosphere is laid back and you really feel at home, so much so that our 1 night ended up being 3!!

I also recommend you try David's surf lesson - you can't leave Jeffrey's Bay without hitting the waves.

The staff are amazing, really relaxed and friendly. We stayed in a large double room in a two bedroom apartment which was clean and functional. The beach is only a few steps away and the supermarket is just around the corner. They also have lots of BBQs.
It is also super close to the surf beach.

In 2010, I was at Cristal Cove for the first time. Planned to stay two nights, ended up staying nearly a week. It‘s beautifully situated with the beach in the backyard, shops & restaurants within walking distance.

The guesthouse is family-run and you can definitely feel that personal touch. The Yosh family and their staff are very welcoming, super friendly and able to help you with all sort of questions you may have with travelling or surfing. They recently have been joined by Steve "Sashimisteve" Walsh who is a cook any restaurant could wish for. Try to be there on a Wednesday when he gets the fresh tuna in - it‘s simply delicious! And when Steve picks up his guitar and plays a couple of songs after cooking for you, you definitely are in for another treat.

Cristal Cove has a fantastic vibe and I truly found my home away from home. I have been back twice since 2010 and will return again for sure. And again and again and again. Need I say more?
