We have been trying to stay at the Pan American for several years but due to all of the repeat customers it has been very difficult to book the 3 rooms we need. We finally succeeded this year and had a wonderful stay. The hotel is well maintained and updated in a retro/travel type theme. We had two rooms that were renovated a few years ago and 1 room that was renovated over this past winter. All were very nice with granite counters, nice furniture, and clean fully updated bathrooms. The beds were very comfortable, some of the best we have had in Wildwood. All the rooms have a great view of the ocean, since there are no hotels adjacent to the Pan American, views are generally unobstructed north towards the boardwalk and south down the bike path. The location is excellent, its an easy 5-10 minute walk to the boardwalk and is also near the Crest Pier which offers great views of the beach. There is a restaurant on premises called Alosi's Bistro, we ate breakfast and dinner there several times, the food is excellent, highly recommended. As for service, all of the staff we encountered was extremely friendly. We had a problem with our refrigerator which stopped working and since it was too late in the evening to bring up a new one, Greg at the front desk kindly allowed us to use their meeting room refrigerator. Maintenance had a new refrigerator for us promptly the next morning. I have only one minor complaint, and that is with the A/C system in the hotel. The hotel has central air conditioning, but there are no thermostats in the rooms, only a switch to control the A/C fan speed (Off/Low/Medium/High), so basically even on Low, the room never stops cooling which is fine during the hot day, but at night it can get real cold, and turning it off causes the room to get very stuffy. But in the end, this wasn't a big deal, we just stayed under the covers. The Pan American is a great, always renovated hotel with a friendly staff and a location that can't be beat. We enjoyed ourselves so much we all booked the same rooms again for next Summer. I'd recommend this hotel to anyone!
Rooms facing south get lots of wonderful sunlight during the day. Try to stay on the 3rd or 4th floo...
