The hotel was clean and one block from the beginning of the boardwalk before the conference center. The staff is curteous and very accomodating. When you arrive for check in, there are luggage trolleys by the soda machines to the left of reception. The bathroom was spacious and our shower consisted of plenty of hot water. The pool is very clean but I wouldn't say it felt heated.....however it's 90 degrees there so the cooler water was a welcome. The pool is open until 8 I believe but I'm not sure. We were always on the boardwalk by dinner time. They also have two shower/ rinse areas. One by the beach entrance near the ramp and one in the pool area. Your internet is free, so bring a laptop to upload photos or skype etc. Just be sure to ask for the log on code at the front desk. We found a washer and dryer on the 3rd floor but had no use for them. We stayed on the top floor and will stay on the same floor just different room again this august. The balcony appeared or felt to have a tilt forward which was a little offsetting. We were in 506, however my husband tested and assured the railing was secure! There is a gorgeous sundeck on the 5th floor for anyone to use and the view is spectacular! On the third day of our stay the elevator broke but they had it fixed that evening working straight through the day in the sweltering heat and calling in repairmen to boot! We were so thrilled at their expeditious attitude because the 5th floor is one heck of a climb! The elevator is very slow, but you don't know a good thing til it's gone!! They say don't hang towels over railings but never hasseled us or anyone else if we did. Our housekeeper was Nora and I can assure you our bedding was changed EVERY day! I had mascara on my pillow from crashing after a full night of the boardwalk and the next day....bright white pillow cases! They are very good about providing towels and washcloths and there is cups and drinking glasses provided but I think you have to wash them yourself after use because each day after the room was cleaned we'd come back and they were still in the used condition. I don't know why...didn't inquire and cleaned them in the bathroom with some shampoo.... Be sure to bring a pen and paper (they don't provide them which is a little odd but not important) to make your own sign "Do not disturb". They don't have those either and housekeeping will show up at 9:00am for all you late sleepers and open the door while you're laying in bed! This only happened the first day, as soon as my husband told them not until 11am, the next 4 days we hadn't a problem and didn't even make up a sign. I'm bringing the pen and paper though this August! LOL They have a cute little coffe/bagel/ice cream shop in the back of the building and the coffee was pretty decent. They make special bagels as per your request which I found to be a quaint touch. There's a Breakfast/Lunch cafe across the street from the hotel if you'd prefer a larger meal, and a Subway so close that will deliver to your hotel or the beach...just give them a crossroad point nearest your area on the beach to meet the delivery person and their prices are the same as your local subway. There is water, soda and treat machines in the pool/grill/pool table area right off the elevator and the water/soda is $1.50 which is what it costs in our area and does take dollar bills. There's an ATM in reception just make sure the receptionist is off the phone or it doesn't work. They must share the same line. 3 blocks away from the hotel is a Rite Aid and their prices were as-home also and we picked up milk, cereal, cough drops etc. We're from NE PA so our prices here are pretty low compared to bigger PA cities such as Philadelphia! Cereal was $4, Milk $3 etc. This hotel is conveniently located to everthing! The A1 rooms are a tad bit confining...I'd say it's fine for two people, we also bring our grandaughter and the bed was VERY roomy and comfortable, however from the sliding door to the bed it would measure approx. 3-4ft. From the bottom of the bed to the door approx. 4-5 ft. From the Left side of the bed to the bathroom approx. 3-4ft. so it was a little boxey. My Brother got a suite on the 3rd floor and It looked like a roomy apartment!!! Huge! for his 8 person party they had plenty of room and 2 car parking. Call and ask what they'd suggest for your family or party size before booking. As I stated before we spend most of our time out of the room so it's fine for My husband, our 5 year old grandaughter and myself. I'm pretty picky and am used to more upscale surroundings out of the U.S. but won't be robbed for upscale at the Jersey Shore!! The area is overpriced to say the least, so grabbing a bargain is a welcome! This is exactly what you want if you want clean, comfortable, and decently priced!
