I just spent the Labor Day weekend at the Coliseum. The room was clean, everything worked, staff were all friendly and the view from the third floor was impressive. Judging by the number of repeat customers I met most people who stay there are very happy with the accommodation. I didn't hear one word of criticism from the folks I met during my stay and the place was full - guess the critics are just picky?
Two friends also came to join me and they were equally impressed.
One great thing is that the area is quiet at night, with no loud music or partying to disturb your sleep.
There's sensibly priced food on site plus a great bar/restaurant and a good deli about 5 mins walk away (both straight up Miami Ave, the bar/restuarant is across the road at the end and the deli is three blocks right) so you don't have to go far. There's also a very useful area with two huge gas BBQs residents can use.
I have no problems recommending the place and would go back if I ever found myself that way again.
