The hotel is clean and the owners take pride in maintaining it and in making sure their guests are happy. Like most motels on the Crest, it has a retro feel and it’s clear the owners put money back into upgrades every year, with obvious new changes like renovated baths and kitchens, new TVs, the pool was recently refurnished, there’s new grills and (comfortable) outdoor chairs, etc. Melissa is so approachable, as was her husband, daughter, son and daughter-in-law. This is really a family establishment. And no attitude from any of them; always friendly. They are regularly seen on the property doing something around the hotel to ensure all was in order. They have “family fun events” that include a weenie roast and evening movie screening. The pool has a diving board which the kids love. There’s never a line at the grill to use it (i.e., there’s several grills), there’s also a shuffleboard and ping pong table, and a large play area for young children (that includes sand pits, slides, rope climbs and a huge wooden ship). The outdoor common dining area is great for family and neighbor gatherings, to sit and enjoy the days/ evenings. And, the rooms, pool, playground and outdoor dining areas are all smoke free, so no butts laying around; and we saw the owner enforce this, so she definitely goes out of her way to make sure everyone respects everyone else’s expectations. The motel is super close to the beach and there’s also a park across the street that is perfect for kids to play ball and has free concerts on Wed and Sat. The beds are VERY comfortable and the service maids handle your requests with a smile. The value to service expectation was definitely exceeded, especially when compared with other motels in the area. We will be looking to return next year!
