stayed in the garden building (213) in mid-august for the first time at seapointe village.
overall, the amenities and grounds are very nice, clean and well maintained... but you are paying a lot of $$ to stay here and in my opinion, its really NOT worth the price at the end of the day... a regular condo with a pool and close to the beach for 1/2 the price would work just fine, the "upgrade" to this "resort" isnt really worth it.
the private beach is great - sand was soft and water was very clean. did not rent chairs or buy any snacks so cant comment on the prices...
all of the pools were clean and had plenty of chairs, tables and umbrellas for all. some pools are more crowded then others so you have to find the one that you like... we tried them all!
the doors to all buildings are locked and you need a key - or a key code - we were having issues with our keys, you had to try 3-4 times and really wiggle them to get the door open... not fun when trying to push a stroller and carry pool/beach stuff. we asked about the keypad in the office and Mickey lied directly to my face and said the Garden building didnt have a code... we saw people using a code from the moment we arrived so i'm not sure why she lied... but we simply asked another guest who willingly gave us the code right away and we used that for the rest of our stay.
our unit was as clean as expected but the furniture in the bedrooms was way out of date and the tvs in each bedroom were smaller than the size of a laptop screen... thank goodness the living room had a tv from the 2000's (large flatscreen) HOWEVER the dvd player DID NOT WORK. we reported this to the office who sent maintenance who left a note that said you had to turn the dvd player on to use it... REALLY? wow, dont you think we tried that? it powered on but when you pressed open/close nothing happened so you couldnt get a dvd in there. trust me, we tried several times and have small kids who watch dvds daily so we are quite familiar with how to operate a dvd player... needless to say, no movies for the kids which some might think is no big deal, but tell that to my toy story fanatic son!
internet/wifi access is a JOKE! our unit didnt have wifi which is fine b/c all the buildings have wifi in the lobby, right? well the garden building wifi was ALWAYS inoperable. i overheard some residents discussing it in the lobby (one of the residents was actually the president of their condo association) so this is clearly a known issue that they dont bother to fix. ALSO cell phone reception is horrible... we have iphones, one AT&T and one Verizon... neither worked in the condo and only one worked outside on the balcony... i had to leave seapointe village to use my phone...
called the office to speak to rosalie for info on discount tickets for morey's piers as she is listed as the contact for this information... she was "at lunch" and no one else could answer any questions so had to wait for her to return. she returned and i got her on the phone BUT she wasnt at her desk so she couldnt answer my simple question -- what is the discount price for the rides wristband? -- she had NO CLUE b/c she didnt have the info in front of her.
there are very few restaurants and activities in walking distance so be prepared to be in and out of your car when you need to go places.
we will not be going back to seapointe village - there are TONS of cheaper alternatives with great pools and beach access... which are also closer to parks, activities and places to eat.
