“Friendly owners, great motel.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 11, 2013 via mobile

The motel is very clean and beautiful and the owners are very sweet. The first time we stayed at this motel there was a very large group staying and using the grill area nonstop so the owners were kind enough to let us grill out food on a private grill. They are wonderful people and this is why we continue to stay with them. Already in the car on our way down again for the 3rd time within 5 weeks. :)

This is the second time we stayed at the Ala Moana motel and will continue to stay there whenever we visit Wildwood. Last year we stayed in one of their motel rooms and we were very pleased. This year we stayed at their beach house and again we were very pleased and impressed. The owners of the property are genuinely nice people and you can tell they take pride in their motel. The rooms are beautiful, extremely clean, and the entire outside grounds are well maintained including the pool. Also, very convenient to the boardwalk and beach - only one block away and to local convenience stores. My family highly recommends this motel for the Jersey Shore experience.

We had a family graduation party to attend and frankly aren't that familiar with Wildwood and the Wildwood Crest. We asked our friend to recommend a place and he suggested Ala Moana. He was certainly right! Patricia is the owner owner and this is definitely a family affair with her daughter helping her in the office. We had a C unit which was well equipped with a small kit he'd nod private balcony. The pool is nice and clean an the whole property is neat and tidy. Plenty of parking too! We will definitely be back.

We just got back from a 5-day/4-night stay at the Ala Moana Resort Motel in Wildwood, NJ and we couldn't be happier with our stay. There were 5 of us (4 adults and 1 child) and we stayed from Wednesday to Sunday, with a late check out for a minimal fee - it was well worth it as we got to spend another morning enjoying the pool before heading back to reality.

First of we were very impressed by the cleanliness of the motel -not just our room, but other areas, such as the pool and the game room (where the bathroom was just as clean as the one in our room). The housekeeping is meticulous. The owner, Patricia, and her family were very courteous, friendly and efficient. Anything we needed of them was no problem.

Rooms were furnished with all the basic necessities, such as cutlery, dishes, full-size refrigerator, stove, toaster, flat-screen TVs, etc. We stayed at the 2-room deluxe efficiency suite, which includes a bedroom with 2 double beds, and a living room with a hide-away bed, armchair, nice-size table and chairs. It literally felt like home away from home - we had everything we needed.

The pool is good size (up to 7' deep, with a kiddie area for the little ones), and has plenty of lounge space. It closes at 8pm, which is fine as it's relatively quiet in the evening. If you like the more boisterous loud partying spring break type of crowd you may stay at many other motels closer to the boardwalk, but they look too shabby for my taste and the constant drunken horse-play you could hear as you drive down the street is obnoxious.
The Ala Moana welcomes everyone but it's definitely family-friendly. It was our first stay there but we learned there are many returning regulars, which we will most likely become as well.

The location is great! It's close enough to the boardwalk and the 3 amusement park piers to walk there (otherwise there is a trolley that stops right by the motel or it's just a short drive to any of the parking lots by the boardwalk). There are stores and restaurants within walking distance as well.

There is a game room complete with a pool table and several arcade games - perfect for those rainy days. A laundry room can also be found on the premises, which is very convenient, and there is a bbq area if you'd like to cook & eat outside.

The prices are very reasonable. We stayed mid-June so not during the high-season summer months, but even then the rates are good, and with all the amenities, location, and service - it's worth it.

Bottom line: with so many choices to stay in Wildwood I feel we picked the best one, judging by how other places looked (and sounded) nearby. We were very happy with our stay and will definitely be returning - perhaps even this year.

1st time back in Wildwood in a very long time my fiance's 1st time ever in Wildwood...we stayed 3nights with a late check out (6pm) for an additional $25 it was definetly worth it! Parking was a little tight but whenever we left out we always go a space coming back. Check in was a breeze we sent our initial deposit via money order which was different but no big deal paid the balance in cash; so if your a person with debit or credit card and your over 25 this would be a good place for you. I had a A type room w/ the private balcony loved it! It was perfect...very clean and my room was updated! I stayed in room 102, the pool closes at 8pm but didnt do much swimming as it was cold and windy while I was there but the pool is heated! Location... we were right at the the end of the boardwalk near the crest which wasnt to bad about a block from the boardwalk definetly not the heart of the boardwalk or where the action is...but the tram can definetly take you there... over all I enjoyed my stay and will definetly go back again!

Room Tip: if you dont have a "private" balcony you kind of have a community balacony.

We stayed memorial day weekend here. We had a good time in wildwood. The room was spacious and very clean. We stayed in type D on the second floor. Patricia was very nice and helpful. We got lost on the way there and she stayed on the phone with me until we got there (which was at 230 in the morning). The pool was huge and heated (about 80 degrees) very clean and nice. The motel isn't your typical motel. It's more like a hotel without room service. Really close to the boardwalk and ocean. It was perfect for our kids. We had a one yr old an 8 yr old and a 11 yr old with us. And they enjoyed the whole stay. The inly problem we had is noise. There was a group of about 6 guys in there 20's next door to us that were loud and partying alot. But overall the motel was great and we would stay here again!!! :). Oh and if u go to wildwood. I recommend going to cape may zoo. It's about 15 minutes away and it is awesome esp if you have kids. And it's. FREE. But they ask for donations. Which i recommend. :)

My wife and I stayed here 4 nights on Labor day weekend 2012.We had a very relaxing stay here. The resort is at the edge of Wildwood Crest, which is a bit of a walk from where most of the attractions are,but I look at it as good excercise as we did quite a lot of walking during our visit. The room was very clean and modern, decent sized and had a small kitchenette. .The owner seemed very pleasant and friendly.I liked the fact of having a private balcony as most motels in Wildwood do not have this and was one of the things that sold us on this place as we like alone time sitting out on our balcony at night. Not all of the rooms had a private balcony though. There is a nice little air conditioned game room and a very nice pool. Also, there is an Acme 4 blocks down the street for groceries, and the motel is about a block from the boardwalk. We were pleased with our stay and even though we like to try different motels just to get a feel of whats out there, I'm sure we will stay here again on at least one of our future visits.
