Okay, the first time i ever stayed at the Beachwood Hotel was July 2003' - and i thought that the owner (who is Not Hungarian)-read above- he is an older man, who lives their at the hotel, and he was very nice to us, he lets students from all over stay there upstairs, all summer and they work for him. So then when my boyfriend and i went into our room for the first time well yea lets just say the owner does not spend alot on updating the furniture and carpet -but so what he's a little outdated....and your aloud to smoke in the rooms there so thats why they don't smell like roses, But honestly yea the rooms are not the best, it's an old place but it's cheap, and i'll tell yea the maids never get a tip on the dresser from me i request at the front desk i don't want room service, and bring my own towels. So the place overall is very close to the beach, boardwalk, parks, and close to resturants. So unless your a party pooper why would you really need to stay in a 5 star hotel room when oyur down the shore the whole time anyways? Also my boyfriend and i always request the same room and get it w/ no problems. They have a pool and it's nice & clean, i watch them clean it everytime i'm there. Our friends and us have now been going for 4 years straight, w/ not problems, we know to just bring our own blankets pillows, extra towels and some lysol spray to spray everything down, and i'm a clean freak so i would bring lysol to any hotel- i would stay at! You could pay $500.00 a night to stay somewhere upscale and still get a dirty room! So cleary you get what your pay for which is okay w/ me, and your not suppose to be in the room all the time anyways, your on vacation, so go lay on the beach, don't complain & have fun!
