“ANTS! AVOID!”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed July 18, 2011

I made a reservation for this room after finding out that it was only $75 for Sunday night. At that price I wasn't expecting anything spectacular, just a place to shower and sleep. After being there for a few minutes, we realize that there are ants all over our things. We decided to try to talk to the owner and have her move us to another room, but after 8 pm there was no way of getting in contact with her. By 1 am when we get back to the room, we find ants inside our luggage and decide that there was no way to stay there, and to pack up and drive the 2 hours home.
I called the owner in the morning and she accuses us of "taking the ants with us" since there was nothing in the room. She also mentions that they're called sugar ants "so they don't bite", as if that should make it ok. She then goes on to explain that if I were in one of her other rooms she may have believed me since she knows that they have an ant problem, but the room I was staying in has never had a problem.
The entire phone conversation with her was very rude and very unprofessional, I would avoid this motel at all costs!

Twilight motel was terrific, the price was in our budget and the rooms have been recently updated, the owners were hard at work most of the time, however, when we needed any information they were readily available. The pool and Jacuzzi was clean and refreshing, the hot tub was hot and the pool was also heated. We had a brand new kitchen in our room and we were able to save money on our food expenses. We have been going to Wildwood for the last 7 years and this is by far the best one we have found to date. Other peoples expectations might be out of reach. But they didn't have to dig deep in their wallets to pay for a more expensive motel which gives you the same amenities. I will be back next year and the year after and so on. You should absolutely make it your vacation stop in Wildwood. well worth the stay.Oh also the free parking and internet service for all!!!

We were staying at this hotel during the labor day weekend in a room with 2 queen beds.
I used to go to the Marlane Motel which is one of the best motels in Wildwood, and of course the Twilight can't compete but for the price we got (420$ tax included for 4 nights), i won't complain! I was afraid that my reservation would be lost in the process since we made a reservation 2 months ago and there we didn't have to give a deposit and we haven't received a complete confirmation by email or fax. But everything went fine. The location was great since it was 5 min walk to the boardwalk. The rooms are old and outdated for sure (but we could say it's the case for a lot of motels in wildwood ;) ). There was a smell of humidity especially in the area near the A/C. The flush power of the toilet wasn't strong enough. Also, we try to make popcorn in the microwave but it burned within less than one minute, i don't know what when wrong. There was no hairdryer. Other than that, the rooms were clean, the bed was ok, and it wasn't too noisy (with the A/C working of course ;) ) Room service was ok but i would have appreciate to have a cardboard on our door to let them know if we wanted room service or not. Pool was clean. The owner, Kathleen, was great to us.
If we would have pay 200-250$ a night, i would have expect a nicer motel, but for the price we paid it was perfect for our needs!

This motel was the nastiest place I have ever walked into. We confirmed with the owner that we would be arriving after midnight due to the travel time and she confirmed with us on Wednesday (we were scheduled to arrive friday) that it would be no problem the door would be unlocked and our room would be ready. We arrived at 1am to our room door locked. We banged on the owners apartment and after 25 minutes she came out to let us know that she gave our room away because she thought we weren't coming. The owner advised us she called an left a message earlier in the night to see if we were still coming. My girlfriend then advised her that she returned the call a few hours later stating we were arriving after 12am as agreed. The owner said she had an extra room with one double bed. Since it was so late we just took the room. Once we entered it was another story..... The air was off! It was about 99 degrees in the room and smelled like must, mold, and urine. My girlfriend has asthma and was having issues breathing even once we turned on the air unit. The comforter looked as if it hadn't been washed since 1979 an the bathroom was just gross! She was charging 150$ per night. This was not even worth 50$. The motel 6 might have been nicer. After 5 minutes of googling hotels near by we found a nice one for the same price and left asap! The next morning we demanded our refund of the check we sent in for our room (wonder why she only accepts checks) and after calling and stopping by two times we finally got our money back. To sum it up, look elsewhere.

So this is how i see it, when you visit the shore the hotels are always hit or miss. And sometimes you pay a fortune. The room we got was an efficiency so it had 2 double beds, a dining table with 4 chairs, a regular sized refrigerator, a stove, coffee maker, and it's own plates cups utensils, etc.

We stayed with 5 girls. We brought an air mattress and just pushed the table over so we can fit it. The place definately was aged. BUT i was so surprised to see the sheets and towels were so clean. Normally i bring my own sets of sheets and blankets and pillows. But the sheets were crystal white, like just taken out of the package. SO clean and so were the towels and Pillows cases . The piilows were ok and the bed was a little hard. Also one of the beds was directly in front of the air conditioner so who ever slept there was freezing all night.

The hotel was 2 blocks away from the boardwalk and in the beginning, so it was nice. also about 2 blocks towards the board walk and about 2 or 3 blocks down there was a rite aid ( i think) so it sold snacks and milk and stuff. To save some money (we are all on a tight budget) we brought cereal for breakfast and fruits and drinks.

The lady checking us in was on the phone the whole time and it was definately a personal phone call. I thought it was rude and she should have put them on hold. But she did seem nice. Parking was really limited, someone actually pulled out as we pulled in so we can see my car the whole time. But there was a different lot down the road where you can't see it.

the walls were thin and could hear everything, but turn on the air and it drowns out the noise. The pool and hot tub were nice. And the top lock didn't work, and bathroom window didn't shut. So we had to put a chair and make some old school lock. The bathroom was petite and had a stand up shower. The water just trickled out and was so hard to make it hot or cold.

My synopsis, IF you are on a budget and not staying for 3 days as required by most hotels down the shore, the twilight did the trick. And it worked for us.

The twilight is one of the cheapest motels we could find. I didn't expect a 5 star resort! But I did find the owner to be extremely helpful and nice. The pool was great. the hotel was basically quiet and we went during the 4th of july weekend. Our air conditioning worked. We brought our own towels. The room was a little out dated, but that is too be expected when you aren't paying much. We didn't have to use our car at all. We could walk everywhere, which was really nice. I believe some of these bad reviews were from people who's expectations were off the charts. If you want a five star resort shell out the extra cash and stay somewhere else. If you want to be close to everything and save a little money stay here.
