After hearing some friends talk about the Dog Tooth we finally had a chance to try it. Because we are locals and visited during the off season parking was easy to find. We were greeted by Brandi the hostess with a friendly smile who seated us quickly. Donna, our server was quick to get our drink order as we read the menu. It was full of specials that looked so appetizing.
My Wife and Son ordered the Pulled Pork Nachos and Mozzarella sticks as apps. The plate of Nachos was very big, enough to feed 4 easily. I ordered the Volcano Shrimp. There had to be at least 30 decent sized shrimp in a tangy sauce that I would call "BBQ meets Buffalo". It had a nice tang that was not hot and added a lil spice without a big "kick".
Our entrees consisted of Chicken Cheese Stk for my Wife. A Bacon Cheese Burger for my Son. And, Crab Mac n Cheese for Me. The CCS was on a soft long roll served with chips. The Cheeseburger was cooked to Med. as ordered and plenty of Bacon to compliment the patty.
Now on to the Crab Mac n Cheese. It was served in a soufflé dish approx. 4 inches high and 4 inches round. It had a crispy brown crust on the top browned to perfection. It was full of crab, sun dried tomato, and bacon....yes BACON. It was truly amazing. I did not know how or if all of the flavors would compliment each other but they did, amazingly.
I highly recommend trying the food especially the Mac n Cheese. The price was about what to expect for "island food".
There were no booths, but outdoor dining is available. The is also a full nicely packed bar as you enter the establishment.
