“Average Steaks - Nice Atmosphere - Big Prices!”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed January 4, 2013

Don't quite understand the usually rave rep this place has. Though we enjoyed our visit there we both found the steaks average or a hair better and the prices in the upper atmosphere. An 8oz filet with lobster for $53.00! Lobster was very dry (obviously frozen too long) and I have had much better steaks in much cheaper establishments. We had the steamed mussels and they were outstanding. The atmosphere is truly cozy and the service from Jay and the gang was very attentive. But the overall experience just missed the mark and at these prices they better take better aim at pleasing their clientele and providing a better ROI on the rich investment you're expected to make. Hope they do something soon! If you're a discriminating and experienced restaurant goer, you will not enjoy this place.

“Wonderful ambiance - 1st class service and great food!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 1, 2012

If you’re into “dining” you need to know about this restaurant. Sweet Waters Steak House in Westfield offers wonderful ambiance - first class service and most importantly great food! The cozy atmosphere in the dining rooms provide a relaxed setting not found in most restaurants today.

For starters Sweet Waters entices you with a wide variety of appetizers along with the unique opportunity to create your own shell fish tasting. (Raw Bar) It’s amazing - you put the pieces together selecting from a wide variety of fresh oysters, (including Kumamoto the aristocrats of oysters) Little Neck Clams and Colossal Shrimp. The value proposition here is unique; pricing is by the ‘piece’ so you control the portion size and the price. A rare opportunity in any restaurant.

Naturally Sweet Waters features an extensive choice of Steaks and Chops. The quality is superb with my favorite being a 21 Day Dry Aged Sirloin. All steaks and chop dishes include a choice of several potatoes or hand cut fry options.

In addition to the traditional side dishes “Bette’s secret recipe Baked Macaroni & Cheese is a must try!

Desserts at Sweet Waters are as sweet as the restaurant name implies. On my last visit I enjoyed Bette’s Rice Pudding - it was sensational! The menu also features a large selection of traditional favorites including Chocolate Soufflé (targeted for my next visit) or Chocolate Fudge Tower. As Rachel Ray would say Yummm!

Bottom line for a wonderful "adult” dining experience featuring great service and superb food visit to Sweet Waters Steak House – you’ll be glad you did!

“Sweet Waters...”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 19, 2012

My husband took me here about 3 weeks ago. If you like a quiet atmosphere, great service and excellent food, this would be the place. Our waiter was attentive and also patient with us as we ordered course by course. After dinner we headed over to the bar and ended up having a great conversation with the owner. The prices may be a tad high, but if you go to any steakhouse it will be expensive. Not as expensive as Morton's if anyone has been there, but the quality of the food was fantastic.

“NJ steak at NY prices”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed October 10, 2012

Actually the name is Sweet Waters. Very expensive for NJ steak house. Food is good, but overpriced. Many pretentious people around you. Skip it.
