“Insectopolis Visit”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 11, 2012

I have 6 and 7 year old boys, and I was looking for something fun to do on a rainy day. Insectropolis has many different rooms filled with all types of creepy-crawlies, some alive, some preserved. Visitors can observe a live bee hive and touch scorpions, tarantulas, and cockroaches, which is perfect for the kids. Admission to this unique "museum" is $7 per person, which gives you a discount on your next pest control visit--the company on whose property Insectropolis ironically sits! The staff was patient, kind, and knew their bugs. Well worth the trip.

“Cool small Bugmuseum - good place for rainy day at shore area”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 31, 2012

Took my 12 & 15 yr old sons here on a rainy day. Nice, small bugmuseum. good place for rainy day at shore area. Lots of live spiders, and especially many different kinds of tarantuals. Staff was very friendly. Had a small show that kids got to touch a hissing cockroch, giant millepede, a scorpion(harmless one they said ) and a tarantula.

“My ten year-old daughter went from "Yech" to "WOW!"”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 20, 2012

I took two ten year-old girls to the Bug Museum and we all really enjoyed it. The admission was reasonable at $7 each, and as soon as we were inside we were liking what we saw. The staff were very welcoming and friendly. The layout of mostly mounted insects and spiders was very extensive, from the usual board and insect pin displays to very creative foliage displays that made you concentrate to find all the mounted critters.
The highlight of the visit was the live, hands-on chance to see up close and pet, if desired, a huge tarantula, a large scorpion, a giant millipede, and a Madagascar hissing cockroach. When was the last time you were able to do that?
Great museum. Now my daughter wants to order a tarantula or a Madagascar cockroach for a pet. We are working on Mom for that.
