Main thing to note about Marriott Residence Inns is that they have an indiscriminate pets policy. Meaning, they allow pets, but they do not have separate apartments designated as pet friendly. So, any apartment you get could shave had a pet in it recently. They claim to clean thoroughly, but anyone who has true dog and cat allergies (as I do) knows that the dander stays in the carpeting, drapes, etc.
Anyway, we rented a lovely 2 bedroom penthouse for a family weekend in August. Place was nice, but I was coughing and sneezing almost immediately. When I heard a dog barking next door, I realized I must be in the pet friendly section, so called the front desk to inquire. Basically, they said they could move me, but couldn't promise any other apartment wouldn't have the same problem.
Luckily, I had my antihistamines and inhaler, but it was a less than lovely stay for me.
Things to note: Place is supposedly only a few years old, but wallpaper was peeling in both bathrooms. Kitchen was fully equipped but no hangers were provided for our clothes and there were no luggage racks (whatever those wooden things you rest luggage on are called!). I had requested feather free room with extra foam pillows (even noted at check-in), yet all the pillows were down. Getting someone to answer at the front desk is almost impossible--you get voice mail and no one calls you back. We had to physically walk to the clubhouse where reception is to ask for the things we needed. (Front desk guy was great, but it appears only one person is managing an entire apartment complex!)
Positives: very quiet/soundproof apartment, very roomy, great kitchen, nice pool and hot tub
Try to stay close to the clubhouse because you are going to have to walk there for every request bec...
