“Relaxing stay”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 8, 2011

We had a relaxing stay here. Rooms fine with Wifi and coffee maker. We had a good breakfast and dinner. Friendly and helpful staff. Parking. Also can get an express bus to New York City right outside the hotel. Walking distance to the local main street. We also hired a car nearby and saw the local area for a day trip we particurlarly liked Piermont.

I recently spent two nights in the Clinton Inn Hotel. I had a room with WIFI, cable TV, king size bed and nice size bathroom. The room was pleasant, clean and quiet. One thing I would recommend when booking (as this seemed to be a huge issue with other patrons staying there), ask for the price with breakfast and without. They have a buffet breakfast bar, which is very well stocked with a large variety of food. If you book a room without the breakfast, the paying for the breakfast can be very costly. Otherwise, you can get their "B&B Package" which includes the breakfast. I had no quarrels with the facility - my room included breakfast, which was nice. I gave my review a 3 because it is a bit dated in the building and some of the staff at the front desk spoke broken english, instead of very fluent.

Our heartfelt thanks go to the managers, the front desk, the wait staff, the housekeeping staff and the maintenance staff at the Clinton Inn for helping us through the most difficult six and a half months of our lives. You made a difficult situation easy to bear. Your helpfulness and professionalism are to be commended! We will miss you but be assured we will be back to say hello, have dinner, and stay for a weekend or more when we're in the area.
Your friends- Phyllis and Pat

We just had our family reunion at the Clinton Inn. The service was outstanding from beginning to end. We had the Brunch on Sunday, and the food was so delicious and beautifully presented. The banquet room was fabulous, and every request we had for podium, microphone, screen, etc. was happily provided. Thank you, MaryAnn Cevene for the planning and the attention to detail! Every person at the reunion was delighted with everything. The only thing that was not 100 per cent, was the air conditioning in the guest rooms. We had it at the lowest setting, but could not get it cool enough. Others in the group commented on the same thing. I hope this will be fixed soon, because we are hoping to have other functions here because of the convenience of location, and the quality of the food and service. Great day for our family!

We recently celebrated our wedding, and the reception was at the Clinton Inn. First of all, the service, attention to detail, and care that we were given throughout the whole planning process and then at the reception itself were beyond comparisson. (Shout out to Carol McCann, Senior Catering Sale Manager, and Joe (I forgot his last name!), our Maitre'D for exceptional service!!) As part of our package, my husband and I received a complimentary room for the night, and we were given the Alpine Suite. The room was beautiful (and huge!!), and if we didn't live so close by we would have stayed there longer. My brother and cousin also stayed overnight after the reception in regular rooms and said they were really nice, clean, spacious, and comfortable. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone who is staying in the area, because it's out of the way and not in a congested or crowded section of northern NJ, but still very close to NYC (a short drive to 9W and the Palisades Parkway which will take you right onto the George Washington Bridge, or hop on a passing NJ Transit bus), in a very quaint little section of Tenafly. I would ABSOLUTELY recommend it to anyone looking for a great place to have a wedding, because you don't share the facility with any other event (larger events are booked one at a time), the service is very personal, and the price is definitely a true value without cutting corners. We were absolutely amazed at all we received for what we paid. There is also the added benefit of a block of rooms being reserved for your event so that any of your guests from out of town can stay right there for a discounted rate. Even if it's not for a wedding and it's just a business or leisure trip, it's a great hotel to stay at if you want to be out of the major travel areas yet still close enough to go into the city or go shopping in nearby Paramus. The only thing that we did not make use of although it was also included for us was breakfast at the adjacent restaurant, but I've heard it's good! (We slept in too late and just about made it to check out!)

Wow, tour buses! Lots of them! Late at night! Early in the morning! Backing up, right behind the hotel room, beepers going. Unbelievable. Made it impossible to sleep. I had stayed here before and had to return. Had hoped they had done something to fix this problem but they haven't.

I apologize that the noise from the tour buses kept you from getting a good night’s rest DM-66439, but do want to thank you for returning to stay with us again; your business is very much appreciated. The next time you're in town, please feel free to ask for me personally and I will be more than happy to ensure you receive a room in a quiet part of the hotel.

Best regards,

The staff at the hotel were very accommodating; on short notice we had to book rooms for many and cater a post-funeral lunch. The staff at the hotel knew exactly what to do and were very sensitive to our needs. Hats off in particular to Carol M. and her team who were very responsive and did a great job.
