“Stayed here 3 different times”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 24, 2014

I have stayed here 3 different times in the past year. I have to say that they have been making lots of improvement to this place. Each time I stayed I was in a different room. First time I stayed here I was in room #3 Nice king sized bed very comfortable, Lots of room and nice new looking furniture. Second time I was put in room # 16 nice size room with king size bed plenty of room. My last stay I was in room # 8 This room was larger than the other rooms I was in...King sized bed nice new looking furniture. This place is very quite and relaxing. Nice landscaping and views sitting outside. The staff was great and made sure that my stay was always relaxing. This place is for sure Where Heaven Meets Earth...

Room Tip: The Motel was quite as per what room is best Of the 3 rooms I stayed in they were all very nice

Sought refuge at the High Point Inn when a massive rain storm enveloped the region for several day while hiking the Appalachian Trail. Room was clean, in good repair, shower and toilet worked. It was great to have Wi-Fi to communicate with the outside world on my iPhone. Hose was gracious to run me into Sussex for groceries and a stop at a local liquor store for some pain killer. I also got a shuttle back to the trail when the skies finally cleared up. Was grateful for the use of their laundry machine also. Thanks! Will stay again when hiking through and will recommend to other hikers planning their treks.

The HPC Inn is an old, circa 1950's/60's motel unit about 2 miles South of the entrance to High Point State Park. It is set back from the road and is nicely landscaped. First the good things. Our room was #3. There was a lot of room in it for bags and hiking paraphenalia. It was very clean and the King bed was comfy. The Fridge, Microwave, AC, and TV were relatively new and all worked well. Also, there was good lighting at the desk and at the bed and the WiFi worked well (once you get a code)

Some not so good things. The water is very hard and minerally...undrinkable, so bring bottled water. The window looking in from the parking lot had only a sheer curtain so you could see into the room if any lights were on. The shower was very low flow and the water temperature was hard to control. There wasn't any cups or toiletries and the manager seemed a little annoyed that I would bother him. There is no Ice but the manager would go down the street and buy a bag to resell to us if could get away (He said he was the only guy running the place & he couldn't work 24/7). Each room has an ashtray outside of it and they all were filled with butts. We were there 3 days and they were never emptied. Also, the WiFi needs a code which wasn't offered to me when I checked in so be sure to ask. Finally, there is no coffee maker and only one morning out of 3 was there was any coffee made in the office. For $80/night this could be a 4 or 5 star place with just a little more effort. If you pay for a week it's $300 which works out to $43/night which is a bargain, but I'd think twice about spending 3- 4 nights here.

The room was pretty no frills, but the room was very clean. The owner was friendly and very helpful. A good place to stay for a night or two. It is pretty far from any places of interest, but it is a good location if one wanted to hike at High Point State Park.

I just spent a week here while hiking the AT in New Jersey. This is advertised as a quaint old-fashioned hotel and that is exactly what it is. The beds are king-size, comfortable and very clean. Each room has a new HD television with Directv service and wireless is available. The towels were surprisingly clean and soft. The showers always had hot water.

Even though there are no amenities here, Sussex is not very far. The A&P is 5 miles south. The local watering hole, Fireman Dan's is very close.

Yes, I would go back for a long weekend to unwind.
