“Convenient to Summit but uneven - Tripadvisor's picture: misleading”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed March 1, 2012

The picture of a room in this B&B room posted on TripAdvisor is really misleading. While rather pleasant-looking from the outside, with a fairly nicely well-kept exterior garden, on the inside this is an old house that is really a barebones B&B -- with old carpets, dated bathrooms details, poor insulation, water stains, uneven quality of furniture and overall generally mediocre room's appearance and functionality; e.g., our curtains were not operating properly and all the hangers were "recycled" plastic or wire affairs. Our room could use at least a good coat of fresh paint.... On the balancing side, our room was clean, and the bed was comfortable. The B&B is in a pretty good location in Summit, within walking distance from the main street and shops, and 3 blocks to the train station where you can find perhaps the most efficient Starbucks in the world. We had a ground-floor room with a separate sitting area, in addition to a separate suite with bedroom and bathroom, a setting that I suspect may be appealing for a longer term stay while looking for a place to buy or rent in the area. Breakfast is not this place's forte: granola bars and other prepackaged pastries, cheerios, some coffee and tea (in Styrofoam cups). We could also distinctly smell cigarettes' smoke when entering the B&B's common area --- just faintly detectable also from our room. When booking, looking at the picture on TripAdvisor, I thought we had found a little known treasure at a reasonably price. At about $100+ per night, considering the uneven overall quality? Not that cheap ...

“Cozy, Comfortable, Convenient and Friendly!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 19, 2011

We very much enjoyed a return visit to the Inn. Carol is amazing and goes above and beyond in every way to make your stay enjoyable. We visit the Summit area regularly as our son's surgeon is with the Overlook Hospital nearby. It is a great pleasure to be able to relax in a home away from home and makes what could be a stressful time not so. We enjoyed staying in the first floor suite with our son (it is enormous) and had everything we needed especially the huge, comfortable bed! The location is perfect and made for an enjoyable evening walk around the quaint downtown shops, antique stores and restaurants. The next morning we found a Starbucks nearby and had our caffeine fix and were on our way. Turkey Hill Inn is the only place for us in Summit. Thank you Carol for your kindness, generosity and hospitality!!!

“Cozy place in downtown Summit”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 2, 2011

I have spent 15 years traveling on business (150+ nights/year) and recently started new job with in Summit. The Turkey Hill Inn experience was my favorite of all time. Spent weekdays at the Inn all fall and give it my highest recommendation. Carol, Maria, and the staff make the Inn warm and hospitable -- a true home away from home. Guests are a great mixture of business and social travelers, and all are made to feel very welcome. If you are tired of staying in hotels on the road -- you will definitely enjoy the relaxed and casual friendliness of the Turkey Hill Inn.
