We visited the Black Trumpet during Restaurant Week with another couple and found the menu appetizing and appealing, and the ocean view from the enclosed porch refreshing. The baby lamb chops appetizer, grilled with a Hummus dipping sauce, pita chips and mint was outstanding; the Spring Shrimp Cocktail in a Vietnamese spring roll wrapper with a horseradish dipping sauce was an intriguing spin on a classic. The entrees (porcini dusted scallops, grilled tuna steak, and stuffed veal loin) all were well prepared and eagerly enjoyed. My wife thought the marscapone sorbet dessert was the best ever, and the rest of us enjoyed the blueberry crustade. Formerly a BYO, the Black Trumpet now has a liquor license and the wine list includes some reasonably priced selections. House wines are $7.00 a glass.
