“Best stay ever”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 6, 2014 via mobile

We recently had the pleasure to spend a few days at the Islander in Ship Bottom. The room we stayed in was very comfortable and clean and the decor was very pleasant. The motel is just walking distance to the beach, shops and restaurants. The owners are two of the nicest people we have ever met. Will definitely be returning! Nora and Barbara

We only spent one night here but will definitely be back! Great place! Large clean newly remodeled rooms at awesome prices. Comfortable beds, Coffee maker, microwave and fridge in king rooms. Convenient location, WaWa close by, walking distance to beach.

Stayed here for a long weekend when my bf came down from Canada. I stopped by a week before to ask some questions about the room and Joe took me into one to check it out. He was more than happy to answer all of my questions and so very nice. The time we spent there was comfortable. The room was clean and everything was new. The little kitchen was perfect for making a couple of quick meals and everything you need to cook was provided. A block away from a Wawa for your morning coffee and right across the boulevard from the beach. Best prices for an off season stay on the island. Would definitely recommend to anyone coming to the area for a visit. ^_^

Found this lovely spot on trip advisor for my weekend stay in south Jersey. Knew I picked the right place after meeting Joe. Great friendly guy, who's there to make sure your stay is a comfortable one.
I heard they had done a lot of renovations after the storm, and the work shows. Great bathrooms, with big sinks, lots of room, and in ours, a large fridge, and hot plate (which helped in saving money on food!). It's steps from the beach and a Wawa is right close by.

I'll have to come back when the summer season is in full swing, and I'll definitely be staying here. Just Bee-ooo-tee-ful :D

The hotel was in a very convient area for us the only downside was our room was across from the office n a horrible spot light shined in our room the whole night making sleeping impossible. Very clean tho which is always nice.

What a great weekend my girlfriends and I had at the Islander Motel on Long Beach island! There were four of us all together so we rented an efficiency and and adjoining King room. The room was beautiful and super clean. The bathroom is like a spa with the huge sink and beautiful tiling in the spacious shower. The owner helped us to arrange a private yoga class and massage in our rooms and was very helpful in helping us find restaurants and other places on the Island. We had our coffee on the Motel deck and were very comfortable in the efficiency room with a table, large fridge and dishware to enjoy cheese, hummus and of course wine! We came on Saturday and left late on Sunday, enjoyed the beach, the Chicken and egg and the company. Best of all the price at $45 each - super affordable!

Room Tip: The efficiency has a large fridge, table for 4,cooktop and microwave - great for families and those...

Our stay at The Islander was just absolutely amazing! Upon our arrival - entering the Office we were greeted by Joe the Owner/Manager as we were all old friends who had known each other for years. That greeting set the Tone for what would be an excellent, relaxing, enjoyable and pleasant stay for us, which we did not want to leave on our last/scheduled check-out morning, but we had to check-out due to the all Rooms were already Reserved for upcoming Guests. Now we understand the reasons why past Guests love staying at the Islander, which this is our new place to stay when we vacation on LBI, which we vacation here each September.

After chatting with Joe, we were given the Keys to the Room. After entering the Room, the 1st words out of my Girlfriend's mouth was "Wooooowwwww!
Both Lorraine and I were so impressed with the presentation of the Room, and the Furniture and Decor of the Room was just absolutely AMAZING! We both responded, this is by far THE BEST Hotel Room that we have seen on our many vacation stays throughout New Jersey. The Room "flowed" so well throughout.
The Rooms were very, very cleaned. We even walked Barefeet on the Floors, but of course leaving our Shoes outside of the Door before entering the Room due to we are germo-phobes.
The Beds were very comfortable; which is always a plus!
We had the Efficiency Unit 506B, which we will request for each of our future stays at the Islander, due to: It is on the 2nd Level, convenient to Parking Lot, convenient to the 2nd Level Deck which we utilized each morning of our visit while we enjoyed the scenery - sipping on Coffee, Bacon and Fruit, enjoying the going-on's of the people traveling by.

While Breakfasting on the Deck ... is where we got to meet Anne, who is just a sweetheart, as she is just as nice and pleasant as Joe was to the 2 of us. These Folks made us feel like family during our entire visit, and as I wrote before, we did not want to leave the Islander.

Of course we enjoyed everything about our Room, and 1 of the "kicks" that entertained us was the Sensor Trashcans. I got such a kick out of wanting to toss trash into the Trashcan.
I do have to purchase 1 of these for our house.

The Internet worked perfectly at the Islander (which we had difficulty at other Motels there).
Convenient location, as we enjoyed the short walk to the Beach, as well as to the Bay for Sunsets.
We got to meet Pat, who is also very nice and helpful. Pat & Joe informed us of the "Real Bar" of LBI ... The Hudson House Bar. A Really classy place. Thanks Joe and Pat for that info.

We also got to meet 1 of the Twins, Mike.
It was just a FANTASTIC visit! The BEST Hotel/Motel on the entire New Jersey Shore, North to the Southern end down to Cape May.

I recommend The Islander to EVERYONE who may be searching for Lodging on LBI, or even the mainland. We normally stay in a house during our LBI vacation; however, The Islander is BETTER than the House, so again, the Islander Motel is our Lodging of choice for each of our future visits to LBI.

Thank you again Joe, Anne, Pat & the Twins. It was a Fantastic September vacation! Curtiss

Room Tip: The 2nd Level Rooms are convenient to the Upstairs Deck, especially for morning coffee, or just to H...
