“Not bad”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 4 days ago NEW

I stayed here one week last month having to attend a NY food show.....hotel is reasonably priced, clean and staff friendly and helpful....but i am puzzled by the fact that breakfast did not change at all during the 7 days i stayed.....the same dishes ( very few) and no china...all served on plastic trays and cutlery.Convenient transport to Manhattan.

I am guessing that this hotel was built in the 60's and it still shows -wallpaper, popcorn ceilings, stained carpeting in the hallway, desperatly in need of a renovation! Hotel staff good, room was not dirty, but set the thermostat at 64 degrees when it is 84 pout side and the most you get is 72 degrees in the room. Window did open about 18". Old furniture, decent views and great location. Amenities included a 1500 watt hair dryer, shampoo, conditioner and lotion. Tub was old cast iron (?) and mold stained ceramic tile. Ice maker did not work on our floor or the lower floor. Would not stay here again, over rated by others.

Excellent accommodations. Overall, the rooms were clean and neatly prepared. Location ideal for visit to NYC .

HOWEVER, avoid at all cost using the New York City Tour bus that is recommended by the hotel. The driver was from HELL! She was rude, and crude and impossible. She complained and was unaccommodating to several handicapped tourist. She complained about the traffic, the police presence at Ground Zero and spoke unfavorably about how dirty the city of New York was. She was disagreeable with the tour guide and about the amount of time he spent at many of the points of interest.

On my return visit, I will make other arrangements for sightseeing. Save yourselves from aggravation and use another tour company!!!!!!!

From the moment I walked through the doors I was surprised at how nice this hotel was after reading some reviews. Location is great! The lobby is modern with a bit of an old New York feel. The receptionist was very helpful and provided us with a bus schedule and giving directions.
We were given a double room on the 7th floor, facing manhattan. The room provably hasn't been updated on 5-10 years but it was very clean and comfortable. I would most definitely stay here again. We parked the car and took the bus into Times Square for $6 round trip!

We booked three nights here on our Corporate American Express, as we did not want to pay the ridiculous prices in downtown NYC.

This hotel is dated, but service is fantastic, and the rooms are three times as big as what you would normally get in NYC, on Times Square. Parking and wi-fi are also free, which is a great added value.

We also had a stunning view of the NYC skyline from our room, and most important of all, it was quiet! I probably had the best three nights of sleep during the entire trip at this hotel.

We stayed one night in NYC, paid more there for one night than we paid here for for three, and in NYC our sleep was horrible, due to construction drilling, sirens, etc.

If you are not picky the hotel is dated, come stay here and save some money! You won't get better value for your money in the area.

Oh, and it takes about 30 to get to NYC from the hotel. If you are renting a car, get a toll pass through the rental company - it will save you some hassle.
