We spent 5 days at this hotel.

The room was the largest I've ever stayed in, and I've stayed in plenty. The view of the Meadowlands was nice. The consierge, Marcos, was outstanding. If everything else had been bad, Marcos would have made it all worth it.

The food at the hotel is all fairly mediocre. We ate alot at the conference buffets, and while they were all laid out very nicely, the grub was just that -- grub.

TIP: Go to Mount Fuji on 17N for sushi. Tip Jackie (a man) nice, okay? He was alot of fun to talk to.

Don't rent a car -- take a cab. We left the hotel to go to the Best Buy -- 4 minutes away, according to mapquest --, took a wrong turn, and couldn't turn off the Turnpike until we got to Newark. 3 hours later ... just, trust me: take a cab. The roads are insane.

There are no store/resturants/anything else anywhere near (walking distance) from the hotel.

If you can't get a room with a NY City skyline view, ask the deskclerk to let you go up to The Clubhouse one night. The view is breathtaking -- but all the views from the NY side must be breathtaking.

Great place for a conference, if it has to be in Jersey.

  • Liked — BIIIIIIIIIG Room!
  • Disliked — Location -- no stores/resturants in walking distance
  • Tips/Secrets: — Don't count on wireless. It's spotty at best.

My family stayed one night at this hotel for a weekend NYC trip. Initially I had little concern about this hotel after reading some reviews. But it's hard to find a hotel in NYC with reasonable price. So I decided to take a chance.

We are very happy about our choice. This hotel has easy access to highway leading to Lincoln tunnel in minutes and more importantly it's quiet at night. The room we stayed at 9th floor is said renovated lately. It's clean, bright and pleasant. I don't find the problem of low water pressure as mentioned in some reviews.

For my experience of just one night stay, I find nothing to complain. We are very satisfied. This hotel is beyond our expectation after reading a lot of reviews.

  • Liked — Nice clean room
  • Disliked — Getting into the hotel is not very straight forward but it's acceptable.

This hotel is overpriced for many reasons. The location, the construction, the customer service, the list goes on. We booked this hotel through travel points, so I am glad I didn't actually hand over my credit card to them!! The lack of service started right when we walked through the door and checked in. The front desk staff looked up our reservation, then immediately told us what WASN'T available in the hotel. The new Starbucks (that is advertised as open on the poster inside the elevators) is not open and the swimming pool is under construction and is not open ( but they could bus us to a nearby hotel for a swim, but they didn't want to make a trip for just a couple people. We would have to make sure that there was at least 5 people in our group to make it worth their while).
They lady that served us was confused with our documents for the hotel booking as they were booked through a travel rewards company she had to go somewhere in the back and check with her manager to see if they were real or not.
Our rooms were clean, and I have to say the best thing about the hotel was the beds. They are absolutely the most comfortable hotel beds I have ever slept on!
So, in order to get anywhere past the parking lot of this hotel you must take a cab or the hotel shuttle. The shuttles run on some strange schedule that makes no sense, but if you are nice to the drivers, they will take you at anytime if you tip them! No problem, I will tip anyone for good service! So, leaving the hotel wasn't usually a problem, it's coming home from a long day in NY city that sucked! We would get back to the Seacacus bus stop sometime in the evening, but of course it would never be at the scheduled time that the shuttle was due to pick you up. Then the fight began. You had to call the front desk, and depending on who was working, they may or may not relay to the shuttle drivers that there was a pick-up to be done. The shuttle drivers were great and didn't mind picking us up because they knew we would tip them, but the front desk staff didn't like communicating with the drivers, so pick-up service was ridiculous to say the least.
The restaurant service in the hotel was another joke. 2 nights in a row we got the same waitress. The first night we asked her what kind of soup they had. She replies " oh, it has some white beans in it, you know what it's called" and walks away never to return to tell us what the actual name of the soup was! The next night we had her for a waitress again. (we asked what the soup was and to our surprise she knew! haha) Anyway, we ordered our food and all but 2 of the orders came about 1/2 hour later. Keep in mind this is a restaurant with about 6 other customers besides us. So, she barely apologizes for the mistake in the order and tells us that she didn't want the 2 other orders to get cold and that's why she didn't have them for us then. (whatever) 25min later!!! the 2 meals arrive. The rest of us are now finished our meals, and the 2 other people in our party are starving! She puts down the plates, walks away and doesn't come back at all!! Finally she comes back with the bill, and here are all the meals on there including the late ones and an 18% gratuity added to the whole thing!!!! I am about ready to blow at this point , so I called the manager over, explained the whole thing (even adding the experience from the day before), so he took the 2 meals off the bill, reduced the rest of the bill by 20% and removed the 18% gratuity on top of that. I thanked him for his understanding and paid the bill and left the restaurant never to return again!
The construction is ongoing in this hotel and for 3 days in a row, they were drilling concrete somewhere in the building from about 7:30 am on! I will never recommend this hotel, I think for a Sheraton it is overated, and it's in the middle of nowhere! Hotel bookers beware!!

Check in took a long time, and after our wait we were told that the room service was going to shut down eary so we better make our slections quickly.
The room was nothing special. You can find a better room for a much better price in the area.

Pool and Exercise Room still under Construction. Must have car!

First time to NYC and did lot of research before deciding on this hotel. I even called the hotel directly to inquire about the construction before the trip. Per front desk, construction was almost done. Arrived Sat night to find out that without a car, there was nothing near by. Ordered for delivery. Sunday morning was very quite. Monday and Tuesday morning we woke up to rude banging noise. It was 8 am already and wanted to sleep in tired from walking around in NYC but was not possible. Asked the front desk to do better job with the vaccuming. Wed, no banging noise but the cleaning staff was having a meeting front of my door (?). Very unprofessional, untrainned in this matter. Thursday, another banging noise.
Pros: very convienient. Only 10 min. to Lincoln tunnel. Plenty of free parking. The housekeeping staff at night was very helpful.
Cons: must have car, too far to use the NJTransit (hotel do have shuttle but set times). If you need the workout room and pool, call first! The gift shop staff (over the 7 day period, 3 girls worked) was not friendly.
