ok so this is about our prom weekend trip to the sunrise hotel in seaside heights. we stayed in there new "our babys" (as RL the owners wife would say) luxury suits. the initial check in and first day was great they were even nice enough to give us a second parking spot. on the down side was that there werent any pots and pans but that was our fault for not double checking the website. the second day is where the problems started. around 5pm the owners son came to our room and asked for me to come and talk to his father about my car. i went to them while they were having dinner and he begins to yell at me in front of other children about my car being parked at his hotel still. i showed him that i had a pass and he said it expired 10am. i didnt feel like argueing about them not telling me when the pass will exprire so i moved the car. later he ask me to come back again asking about where the parents were. i had no clue about this since i wasnt the one who made the reservations, so i asked my friend who did to come. as soon as she comes, he begins to literly yell at her and the police assigned to the hotel were even shocked at this site. he claimed that the parents told him during the reservation that they will POSSIBLY be there if we didnt get the minimum of 4 kids to go.so the owner tells me friend to have her parents call him. so the parents do and he begins to curse and yell over the phone claiming that they were trying to avoid the security deposit of $250. very unperfesional he doesnt accept a credit card and after lots of negotiation with the parents he finally does. after that we then ask what was the reason of it being brought up as if we did something wrong. he said he didnt trust us as kids and that we were imature when the officer at the hotel became a close friend of ours throught the weekend. as the conversation was going on.. a second officer brings down 4 30 packs of beer out of a kids room and they tell the owner and the owner acts as if he doesnt care. so much for a caring hotel about kids. he rather cover himself instead of the kids.
our overall stay was nice but the owners were completely 2 faced.
also i am studying business law.. upon checkin, we signed all papers and recipits.. we stayed a full 24 hours before the problem had occured and he wanted the deposit.. does sears call u a day after they sold u something and u signed for it and claim they sold it for to little money? i think not!
if the owner reads this, you signed out paper claiming the room was left clean and in perfect condition, if you come back claiming something was wrong, well have fun trying to prove that in court buddy.

If you have expensive clothes, DO NOT LEAVE THEM IN YOUR ROOM or HANG THEM IN THE CLOSETS AT SEASIDE MOTEL, or even in an unlocked suitcase. I visited the Sunrise Motel and was robbed of my Ralph Lauren trousers valued at $129.00. My guess is its either management or the cleaning ladies who had an access key as I clearly remember locking my door. Additionally, there are no surveillance cameras in the hallways. The people at the front desk have an "its not my problem" attitude. Don't get me wrong, Seaside Heights is beautiful but if you want to play it safe, don't stay there.

When I was going to report the theft, I saw the Police on the lower level talking to someone who also was a victim of sticky fingers. This ordeal ruined my weekend stay at Seaside Heights. And, to make matters worse, I was with my wife and my 3 year old. Its a bad feeling when you feel violated by someone who invades your space. I did not recover a cent even though I filed for it from the Motel. Seek accomodations elsewhere.

From the initial phone call, to our check-out and everything in between, the Sunrise was a great experience. Jeff and Paul are fantastic hosts -- they and Ronnie went way out of their way to make sure we all had fun, adults and kids included.

Our room was clean and simple. Nothing fancy, but it was perfect. Who needs fancy when the beach is half a block away and there's a deck right outside your door?? We had plenty of towels, and Jeff and Paul were happy to provide extras since we hadn't brought our own beach towels (on the plane.) Everything was kept carefully clean -- I think the housekeeping staff cleaned and straightened the deck furniture at least twice a day -- and as a result, the deck was always inviting and a great place to hang out and enjoy the sun and air and a little people-watching!

My friends and I spent a lot of time in Seaside Heights and Island Beach State Park when we were growing up, and I have such fond memories of those times. I live in Washington State now, and hadn't been to the Jersey Shore in years -- the hospitality at the Sunrise Motel and really, throughout all of Seaside Heights, made our visit a complete joy and made me so happy to come home!! I imagine our two girls will make sure we make a return trip!

We have just returned from the Jersey shore and couldn't wait to put a review on Trip advisor about Sunrise Motel. We have been vacationing at Seaside Heights NJ for the past 20+ years with my own family and my husband's family. We have always stayed at Commercial hotels. Three years ago we decided to take a chance by staying closer to the beach and thru a friend was recommended the Sunrise Motel. From the moment you arrive you know you have come to the right place. They make you feel at home and anything you may need they are right there for you. Their efficiency with a stove and fridge gives you the option to cook in your room instead of going out and spending alot of money. Or you can barbeque on the deck!! (How cool is that!!) Also the added bonus of their free pizza at the pool every Wednesday and free breakfast tickets daily at area restaurants. The motel itself is only two short walking blocks away from the beach and boardwalk so you are saving on parking your car or using the meters. Also, how many times do you go to a commercial hotel and you can't check in until 3 or 4:00. Well when you arrive at the sunrise motel if your room is ready you can check right in which this year it was 1:00 pm (WOW) If your room is not ready they will call you directly on your cell phone to let you know it's ready. Now how many places will do that for you!! That's service. We have definately found the right place to stay for many years to come. We look forward to our return stay.

We are from Hudson County, and we look forward to staying at the Sunrise Motel each summer. It is the most family friendly motel I have ever been to. The room itself is great; it is an efficiency suite, including a stove, sink, and small refrigerator, which makes it very convenient to accommodate oneself. The room also has a good appearance and cable tv. Maid service is performed daily and the staff is very courteous. The pool is beautifully maintained. Pizza Party Poolside every Wednesday!
Free breakfast daily at 1 of 3 establishments. The motel is also conveniently located 1 1/2 blocks away from the boardwalk and beach. My family and I love coming here each summer for our family vacation!
