I'm a busy person and don't usually write reviews on hotels but decided to express my opinion of my family's recent experience at this hotel.
There were both positive and negative features of our stay.
The positive: attractive , refreshing pool, convenient and reasonably priced restaurant on-site with good food ( had breakfast and lunch there several times), excellent location 1 1/2 blocks to beach, fridge and micro in rooms, carpeting ok.
The negative: terribly stained sheets (red and brown stains), holes in sheets and blankets, old lumpy pillows, mattresses so old ,smelly and dirty I felt like vomiting just looking at them. mold on shower curtain, dirty, old upholstered chairs with cigarrette burns, no phone for emergency use or calling the hotel office, no tv remote, no clock radio.
Overall, we enjoyed our stay because the weather was great and we went to the waterpark (Highly recommended ), and ocean.
However, the hotel would benefit greatly by getting new mattresses, sheets, blankets, pillows, and chairs. I would rather pay more for these improvements.

We have just returned from a 5 day stay at the Hershey Motel in Seaside Heights, New Jersey. It was the first time that I have been to Seaside Heights along with my daughter and two grandchildren and will definitely be going back next year and stay at the Hershey Motel again. The hotel is magnificent and the service incredible. The pool is great and clean along with the little pool. The hotel is just a block from the ocean and it was just nice to just hang around the pool too. The staff was absolutely wonderful. There was exceptional maid service every day and everyone was very nice and friendly. The location is great and close to the beach, boardwalk, piers and the water park, all within walking distance. They have a continental breakfast every morning and have their own restaurant and the food is good and convenient if you just want to order something to go and eat in your room.
Overall I would say our first trip to Seaside Heights and this hotel was a very pleasant experience and I will be definitely making reservations for next year. This hotel is great for family type vacations. The couple that was staying in the room next to us told us that they have been going there every year for the last 30 years and I can see why. Great stay.

Hersey Hotel is a family place.
Food was good, Had a problem with fridge.Unit was replaced within an hour.
People comment on how messy the rooms are.
Well, clean up after yourself.
Maids are there to maintain the rooms, not pick up your dirty clothes, the food you left in the microwave, the pizza box on the floor.

PLEASE have respect for the next guest.
Leave the room as you would like it.
YOU try changing sheets, cleaning bathrooms for this many rooms in roughly 2 hours. Then you complain that you rooms not ready when you arrive 2 hrs early.

We've been staying here for over 7 yrs. Always enjoyed ourselves.
A lot of guest are repeat customers, THAT say a lot for the hotel.
Relax, enjoy the sun, talk to the other people staying there.
Have fun. Great place to stay.

We stayed in the hersey motel in july of 2006 for 5 nights wow did i wish we didnt. the overall apperiance wasnt what we expected from the pictures from the website. when we checked in the first thing they asked us is we were over 21 but didnt ask the group of girls infront of us if they were. when we finailly got to our room the smell of smoke from next store and mildew overwhelming, the shower didnt even looked like it was cleaned for weeks and mildew stays on the shower curtian. the bed felt like we were sleeping on a box spring. the sheets you think would be changed daily never once change while were here, the floor was never vacumed once eather, no tv remote how can u have a cable tv in a room without a remote. the sink in the bathroom the knob was broken no screens in any of the windows. things that you think would be in a normal motels room was not. if u want to stay here just take eveything you own. the service toped it all you think they would be so helpfull to makesure your stay was wounderfull well it wasnt when we asked for shower towel because are was skipped over by the maids the additude was just something i never except i was owning a motel/hotel. and very noisy and the walls are paper thin. this was my wife's first time in seaside and my 5th and she never wants to come again thanks to this place.

we will never stay here again.
