“Don't go here with a large party”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed June 18, 2014 via mobile

We were a party of 10 eating dinner. We were talking and having fun (not drinking). The hostess came over and told us quite rudely that we were too loud and made up a story about people wanting to move away from us. Nobody moved away from us. It was very rude and upsetting. We will NOT be back.

“Not baby-friendly”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed June 10, 2014

I can't tell you about the food or service since my husband and I were turned away because we had our sleeping 19 mo old in his carriage. We were looking forward to a quiet meal while our baby slept, but they turned us away. The funny thing is, it was early and the restaurant was empty, I'm sure we wouldn't have been a bother! The manager said it's their policy and it's for insurance reasons! If she was a real manager, she would have accomodated us! Parents beware! They lost repeat customers!

“So disappointed. Service bad food so over priced.”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed May 11, 2014 via mobile

I was excited to go there for Mother's Day. I have to say when you pay 90 some for lunch it better be good and service better be good and it wasn't. I was pissed spending all that money and being unhappy.

“"Sorry - That's just how it is"”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed April 14, 2014

I've been to Sea Isle hundreds of times and after years of mediocre, mostly bland Italian/Seafood restaurants, Sea Isle City seems to finally be getting some decent eateries. Unfortunately Braca's still plays it old school and is unmoved by the new competition. (So old school in fact that their menu doesn't work on an iphone or ipad). Relying primarily on it's perfectly central location, Braca's menu consists of a handful of the same old unimaginative pasta and generic seafood and meat choices that Jersey shore restaurants have been wearing out for years. Though, hey, they do feature both chicken and veal "parmigiano" - and I'm sure it's spelled that way to give real authenticity to the dish. The evening's special was stuffed "bone in" chicken breast -which we were repeatedly reminded was "served with the bone in". A real culinary stretch.
Our party of 6 was squeezed tightly into a booth and we met our waiter PJ - who seemed frustrated and confused the entire night. Visits to table were rare, drinks were forgotten, service overall was slow. We eventually had to ask for bread after our orders were taken and were treated to a basket of sliced hoagie rolls and hard butter. One person in our party asked for a diet coke, and when it was brought, thought it might be going flat. When we asked PJ, he responded oddly inappropriately "it's RC cola, that's just how it is" and then removed the glass without an apology, nor asking her if she wanted something else. We just laughed it off but it really struck us as bizarre. Our table ordered a variety of things from the menu including salads and appetizers, and the response from everyone was universally the same - "bland". The $21 veal parm was 2, 4-inch pieces which looked overcooked, and a small spaghetti side (no choice of pasta or sauce here) topped with some sort of watery red sauce with some unidentifiable vegetable chunks (onions? tomatoes?) clinging to the top. Most of the other meals were similarly uninteresting. In truth, the ladies who served the food were actually more pleasant that our waiter - but sadly they were the only pleasant part of our evening.
It's easy to make the excuse that "well, it's the shore, what do you expect" -and I'm sure Braca's is counting on you to do exactly that. Do yourself a favor and keep looking. There are better places, both here and in Avalon/Stone Harbor, that are open year round and deserve your support. Maybe they'll get the message.
