A great Italian restaurant in a great beach town with a lovely view. The food never disappoints but the service is unpredictable. This was our third visit.
We ordered the sample of daily appetizers to share along with another appetizer. Both appetizers were served by someone other than our waitress, who didn't know we were sharing. They were awkwardly placed on the very small table without explanation of the dishes or additional plates for sharing. We asked someone passing by for small l plates but never knew what we were served for the appetizer bar. Both dishes were excellent.
We had order sparkling water and were approached for refills of tap water (with the bottle of Pellegrino in plain sight) and when we said we had sparkling, surprised that he walked away, thinking that he would then refill our water glass from our bottle.(???) There were also no additional pours from our bottle of wine by staff.
When the entrees were served, again they were presented by someone other than our waitress. Both were pasta dishes (gnocchi with Bolognese sauce - a special and pasta with crab, corn, truffles - from the menu) and we were not asked if we wanted fresh pepper or parmesan cheese. Again we had to request this. And a spoon for the fettuccini. Both dishes were very good.
The location, quality and prices of this restaurant warrant better service. In fairness to our waitress, they do always seem understaffed.
I would recommend though for the food alone.
