“Great business hotel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 23, 2013

Booked in due to location, right beside meeting location.

Very nice hotel, beautiful lobby with bar. Two restaurants, sports bar with typical pub fare.

Staff were great, will return again. Beds comfy and so were the pillows. Very clean and modern.

Word of advice, tricky to find as it is right off the highway so review your directions ahead of time.

We booked there for new year eve celebration, so we wanted to be close to a train station to go to NY and back. The nearest train station is about a 7 minutes car ride, that was great for us since we had our car and at that train station there's a lot of free parking (the parking is free also at the hotel). We got to NY with our car too and the hotel is just beside the freeway entry, so it was very convenient to.
You need a car to go to restaurants or elsewhere because there's nothing there except a Dunkin Donuts.
The hotel was very clean everywhere and the staff very helpful.
The WiFi isn't free in the rooms, but they gave us a code the first day and then credited the charges when we check out for the other days, so finally it was free!
The beds are very comfortable, there's a great flat screen TV with enough channels, desk, small coffee table, very convenient.
The bathroom is a little small, and the closet is in the bathroom section were the mirror and sink is, so my wife has to move over when she was preparing for going out every time I needed something in the closet, little bit annoying.
In conclusion, very nice hotel, clean, great staff and location.

Room Tip: Ask for a room away from elevator and employee room if you want it quiet in the day, it's very n...

My son and I stayed 2 nights as we were in the area for the Pinstripe Bowl at Yankee Stadium. The hotel is a great value alternative to paying the high prices of NYC yet within striking distance of the city. The rooms were small, but very clean. Flat screen TV, comfortable beds, supportive, friendly staff, and reasonably priced are highlights. What else do you really need when you are there to see the sights of NYC? The Plauderville train station is about 1.1 miles from the hotel and has free parking. The trip to Penn Station was $12.50 and took about 35 minutes.

On the down side the hotel is not around any restaurants or shops withing walking distance. (There is a Dunkin Donuts across the street). We did not eat in the hotel restaurant except for the breakfast buffet---- which was average. I always have a rule of thumb that you sleep in hotels, not eat in them. We did find a good pizza place (Ricardo's) and a great diner (Saddle Brook Diner and Cafe) that were within a 1.5 miles. The hotel is a little tricky to get to off of I-80 and you can easily end up back on a toll road if you are not paying attention or are not sure of your directions. Use your GPS!

Overall happy with the choice.

Room Tip: Higher rooms are better but the views are nothing to write home about due to the location.

Hubby and I lived in Saddle Brook for an eternity (30+ years) before moving to the Adirondacks (upstate New York) and traveled back to the acre for a holiday party with some friends! Needless to say, needed a place to stay, got on line and check out the Marriott.

Prices on line ranged from $108.00 to $149.00 - WOW what a spread! I called and got our room (King non-smoking) for under $100.00 - sometimes it pays to be a senior citizen LOL!

We were greeted by a door man who would take our luggage to our room! The front desk was very friendly and helpful, thanking us for being Marriott Reward Members, explained hours for the lounge/restaurant & pool!

The room was clean, the bed was comfy and more pillow choices than most stores!
Access to the hotel was an easy off ramp from Route 80 - but I do have to say we did not "hear" any traffic noise at all!

Would highly recommend the Marriott!

Home really is where the heart is! That being said this hotel has a lot of heart. The rooms are spacious and clean, amenities provided so no need to pack shampoo & conditioner. The restaurant and bar are lovely. My hats off to the chef. The staff above all is the best. They cater to you, go above and beyond always with a smile on their faces. The wait staff, Carol and Richard are a joy. The front desk and management team are just phenomenal. The hotel is conveniently located and accessible yet away from noise for a secure and comfortable stay when away from home. They truly put the the hospitality back into hotel.

My husband and I had a good two-night stay here over Thanksgiving. The staff members were all quite friendly and helpful. Our room was a little on the small side but not bad, and we had enough shelf space in the bathroom for the things we put out. I liked the warm golds and deep reds of the decoration. We qualified to use their Concierge Lounge, which had quite a nice, simple breakfast available, and desserts in the evening.
We had lunch one day in the restaurant and thought the food and service there were very good. The New England clam chowder and chipotle chicken wrap tasted great. Prices were higher than typical, but we expected that so weren't surprised.
Getting to and from it is a little complicated when close to it, and I don't know how we would have done it without our GPS.

Chased from our home due to the effects of Hurricane Sandy (no power, no heat, no hot water, no internet, no cable), we headed to a nearby hotel, hoping only for a warm place to stay for a few days. Boy, were we surprised with what we found! Our king room, though a little small, was warm and comfy. The breakfasts (buffet on weekend) were excellent, with a perfect assortment regardless of your preferences. After the restaurant was restocked and the full menu was available, we had a terrific dinner. The exercise room was well laid out, and had all that a person would need (pool looked pretty good too). But with all that, we most appreciated the first class service from the hotel staff, most notably the front desk crew who helped us get through a long week when we couldn’t go home. Anthony Grasso was especially kind, helpful and understanding, but all helped keep a roof over our heads when we needed one. It’s odd to go to a hotel just 15 minutes from home, but boy were we delighted to find such a good one nearby. Were I to stay at a hotel like this on a vacation or business trip, I would not in the slightest be disappointed. I’d be thrilled!
