“You'll need Burger King on the way home”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed April 29, 2013

Went this past Sat night with my wife and another couple. Very nice decor and smiles all around but too quiet for me. Its almost like being back at Grandma's house and not being able to talk. Food was ok but VERY small portions and overpriced. Left hungry and broke.

“Chef's Table- An Extra Special /Treat”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 8, 2013

I had never experienced a chef's table before, and for those of you who haven't I don't want to say too much and take away from your occasion. Suffice it to say that from the moment you arrive Nicholas makes the night special in every way. I haven't found the chef's table anywhere else nearby, except for NY and this is truly one of the best restaurants in NJ (#1 for ages). I must admit if you if you are a foodie, and you've always wanted to see behind the scenes, and you are within a 25 mile radius, go for it for that special occasion. If you want to go for a lighter, less expensive, more relaxed version of Nicholas, go for the bar instead.
Here are a few hints:
- its pricey, so you may want to only do it for a really special night (ours was our anniversary)
- go HUNGRY, it is so much food you will have trouble eating it all, pace yourself
- the table only seats 4
- you need to make your reservations way in advance, and they only do it Tues-Fri
- if you are a foodie, go ahead and ask questions, you get even more insight into the kitchen

“Top Notch in NJ”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 3, 2013

If you want the finest dining in NJ, Nicholas is your only viable option.

Reviewers who complain about overpricing or small portions are uncultured morons and should head to Basil T's or the Bonefish Grill up the road to satiate their desires.

The restaurant features several menu options, such as a bar tasting menu for $29, so you don't have to spend more than $30-40 per person. Nicholas and Melissa have poured their lives into this establishment, and it is evident in the eclectic wine selection and seasonal menu variations. The cheese board is a true delight, and you'd be hard pressed to find this at any other restaurant in NJ.

For a romantic evening, business dinner, anniversary, or a casual night at the bar, Nicholas has no competition; I highly value returning there.
