“Great Hotel, But Beware of Restaurant Staff”

This is a great Radisson, one of the better hotels in the area. The front desk staff are particularly friendly and outgoing, and the facility and rooms are bright, clean and comfy. The only downfall of this hotel is the restaurant, and specifically the restaurant staff. During my several meals at the restaurant, the staff were prone to bickering loudly with each other in front of the customers, and had a hard time adapting menu items to specific dietary constraints (asking for a steak sandwich with only lettuce and tomato, as opposed to a steak sandwich with mushrooms and hot peppers, proved to be a terrible challenge). I highly endorse this hotel, but they need to hire a restaurant manager who more effectively oversees the wait staff. The room service personnel could also be more engaging.

“Over-priced, poor food, poorly cleaned, falsely-advertised workout facility”

Stayed for three nights in February, 2006, on business. Won't be back, and recommended to colleagues not to stay there.

1. Our corporate rate bought much nicer lodging at other hotels up and down the highway. My team visited back and forth in each others' hotels for meals and small meetings, so I saw first-hand.

2. Food was fair at best. At 7:30pm on the first night in the almost-empty dining room (others must have known), I ordered soup and salad. The only other diner, another businessman, called out "Good choice!" We started chatting. He had ordered the signature $32 steak, and ended up drowning it in steak sauce and sawing away at it because it was so tasteless and tough. When my soup arrived, it was greasy on top, spilled down the sides, and not warm in the middle -- apparently leftovers that were microwaved hurriedly.

3. When I checked in at 6:30pm on a Tuesday, room-service breakfast trays were still out up and down the hall. When I left the next morning, two trays had been shoved into the ice machine nook, while the others were still there. I know at least two were the same trays from the day before -- they were immediately outside my door. So they had been there for at least 24 hours.
Also on the subject of maintenance and cleanliness, the main doors are blocked off semi-permanently, leaving guests to negotiate the side door. With luggage, that was hard. Yes, one must schlep one's own luggage; no big deal in a cheaper hotel, except that for that rate, I expect better service.
Still on the subject of cleanliness, the elevator floor was actually sticky the whole time I was there -- hadn't been mopped in who knows how long.

4. My biggest complaint, because it is the most obviously wrong, is the false advertising of a workout facility on their own website and other websites. The workout room is closed for "remodeling" (no work going on), and only a couple of stair-stepping machines are jumbled junkily by the swimming pool. There's not even a treadmill! When I asked about a treadmill, surely the most basic of workout equipment, the clerk said that it (only one?) broke "a few months ago" and they expected a replacement "in a few weeks." Even if one wanted to work out on the step machines, if they were operable, the chlorine smell is so heavy in the indoor pool area that one couldn't get aerobicized.

Very disappointing.

My fiance and I stayed at the Radisson last month while we were visiting family. The rooms were cozy and the hotel staff was very pleasant. Anything I needed was taken care of promptly. The new GM was very personable and made a point to stop and say hello and ask how our stay was going. I would be happy to stay at this Radisson anytime.

“Best of both worlds”

Doubletree Hotel Princeton

Nov 23, 2005

My family and I spent a weekend and a few days at the Radisson hotel in Princeton.
We had two adjacent inter-leading rooms one a suite for the children and ourselves.
This hotel had been recommended to us by very good friends and they were 100% correct the rooms were spacious well appointed and had everything you could ever need.
We ate breakfast and dinner at the hotel restaurant as the breakfast buffet suited our waking schedule and the best thing after a great meal and excellent glass of red vine is a short warm walk to your room.
On the weekend we walked about the town looking at the university and historical buildings, there were plenty of places to sit, rest enjoy a bit to eat, drink and watch the laid back hustle and bustle of a university town.
We took the train into Manhattan for my meetings and mom and the kids did some sightseeing.
We met after my meeting took in a show and made our way back to the hotel.
The family and I got to spend good quality time together and I got all my business done all for about the same price as my hotel costs in New York what a bargain!
Next time you need a break or have business to do in the city this is an opportunity you should not pass up.

I stayed here with my 4 children, all of whom enjoyed the indoor pool greatly. The service was excellent, and the food at the restaurant was fabulous. Everyone was so friendly and knowledgeable when I asked for directions to surrounding area shops and attractions. I will stay again when I return to the area. We very much enjoyed our stay.
