“Ok food, over priced. Terrible service”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed February 3, 2013

Everything was great until the server tried to sneak in a 20% service charge on the bill for a party if only 2 people. Called over the manager and she tried to justify it by saying "the server has the right to assume who isn't going to leave a tip and add the service charge to the bill." Completely disrespectful, won't be back.

Celebrated my birthday on 1/12/13 at Pure Restaurant & Lounge. Attentive staff, great food and DJ Darius kept us on our feet all night. Presentation of food was top notch and my friends liked the drink selections.will definitely be back for happy hour and/or dinner!

“First off, "Metro North" is now "Pure" which is a misnomer.”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed December 12, 2012

As you walk in, low lighting and questionable decor reign. The eye is drawn to a huge fresco on the far wall, a tacky replication of a portion of the Sistine Chapel. No. Really. If this were Italian, it might be charming in a very cheesy way. Here, there's a sense that some misguided soul thought it would be sophisticated.

This review is not only to share my experiences, but to provide a factual clarification. It should be noted that "Metro North" hasn't existed for over a year. And "Metro North" was pretty bad. It opened, developed this strange midst of NJ, middle of nowhere cheap clubby scene on certain nights and then flopped. "Pure" has arisen in its place and the food concepts are very similar. The restaurant's virtue lies in convenience and what kind of experience you seek. If you're staying at the inn to which it is attached, this is not a disaster for dinner. It isn't exactly destination-dining, however. I could ramble along about this place because of the myriad negative experiences I've had here. Instead, I'm going to list pros/cons.

PROS: The appetizer-portion dishes are reasonably tasty, the wine/cocktail selection is respectable.

CONS: The prices are outlandish. Really, this place is incredibly overpriced. The food is faux innovative (The chef, Bobby Trigg is the inspiration for this kind of thing), the "scene" (depressing art, really dank sense via lighting, the "feel" is just off, I wouldn't order the entrees.

In short, if you're a tired traveller or you want a quick tapas and drink, this place won't kill you. However, it is disappointing, overpriced and strangely pretensious. Don't be fooled. The Sistine Chapel decor says it all, though, non? Oh, and if you have children, you're better off crossing the street to the Princeton Diner. They're entirely decent (and have desserts in the shape of lady bugs). You'll save yourself a lot of money in the bargain.

“What a Surprise!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 6, 2012

I recently moved to the area from Manhattan and discovered PURE By accident. THis place is amazing....cool design, great staff and great food. THey have a huge wine selection and fantastic sushi chefs (Sushi Bar open until midnight).
I have been to PUre both for HAppy Hour..which is a great crowd and to see the late evening influx of sexy women:) They also have DJ playing on Friday and Saturdays. The crowd is grown and sexy with a nice mix of local business professionals, doctors etc.
This seems to be a great place to network and meet people from the area.
I will definitely be returning soon.
