“Dirty, Moldy, Disgusting.”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed November 5, 2012

Ok, So I stayed here for 1 night. The place was gross, mold in the bathroom all over the shower doors and the tub. The kitchen was gross, it looked like it had never been cleaned. There was mold in the fridge...EW! I hear that the owner of this place is the same owner of Mariners Cove too on Point Pleasant Beach, I stayed there too once w/ friends and that place was the same way. Whats funny is Hurricane Sandy just hit the Jersey Shore and I drove by the motel and they had all the blankets and sheets out there drying on the pool fence, i guess they are saving all the flood damaged stuff too, all the other motels had carpets, dressers, TV's out to the curb this place had nothing out to the curb...these owners are horrible...they need to be shut down. Oh and both places smelled like curry and both pools were dingy.

Under most circumstances, this place would be considered pretty dumpy.
However, having stayed at several hotels near the Jersey Shore - this one ranks pretty high for the price.

Pros
- Not on the main roads and a walk to the beach
- Staff is pretty cool
- Some rooms have kitchenettes
- Most have fridges
- Some rooms are being remodeled
- Small pool
- New bath tub refitting in some rooms
- Good for the price
- Most rooms are pretty decent sized

Cons
- Rooms need some serious cleaning
- Musty smell throughout
- Towels are thin, small & rough
- Pillows are about 2" thick
- Furniture needs to be tossed out and start all over - new chairs, tables and definitely couches
- Some internal doors are in pretty rough shape
- Regular price per room during the summer hereis $22;9 which is standard for a Hilton in Chicago, or a Marriott Courtyard in Miami -- not a dive motel in Jersey.
- Shower came out like a fire hose (cone of spray was about 5" diameter
- Still on the "physical key" system - and only ONE issued per room (this was one of the MOST frustrating issues)

Suggestions
- Find some discount furniture store to refresh the place
- Invest in thicker towels - Overstock.com
- I have a feeling that if they invested a few $K in this place, that people would treat it better.
- Need to do regular maintenance (pool, parking lots, etc....)
- Don't be afraid to call the cops or kick-out the riff-raff when they start acting badly
- Staff was nice enough, but didn't seem to care about the property at all

. in a boring nothing town is a depressing disgusting demoralizing dirty dump where insult follows injury and misery is normal, where the worst of degenerate subhuman slime inhabit every room of this snake pit on Bay avenue, complete with disease, drugs, bedbugs, horrific noise and filth of every kind. this property should be condemned and burned down.

Room Tip: stay far away from this horror

Although the staff were friendly enough, this motel was very dirty. The musty dampness of the carpet smelled so bad that I was sick for three days with a sinus headache! The maid did not come in to clean or even change the sheets and towels and the pool had dirt in it. Their website advertised a kitchenette with cooking facilities and there was only a sink and tiny refrigerator. (We bought all this food to cook that went bad because of this.) The price was ridiculously high for such poor service and unclean accomodations.

Room Tip: Always check reviews on motels before booking! Wish we had...

We had reserved rooms month ahead of time and were quoted a $150.00 per night price with a two night minimum - we had 3 rooms. Upon driving 4 hours to attend a wedding party we arrived a motel to find filthy mattresses in parking lot, our rooms smelled from filthy air conditioning that barely worked, no staff was available to aide us, the shower pipe broke off at the wall and again no staff available to make matters worse our room rate was increased by $80.00 a night per room. The cleanliness of the rooms was substandard, the pillows, and bedding stained, the curtains stapled together, someone had punched in walls and mirrors which were unfixed. It is our opinion that this motel is substandard and should be put out of business immediately. We have spoken to the owner who could have cared less about comfort of guests. There were a total of 10 rooms reserved for this party at this hotel - all had the same problems. What a big disappointment to what should have been a good experience. Shame on New Jersey for not monitoring their motels.

If you like smelly, bug-infested, moldy rooms that have no curtains, dirty sheets and a staff that doesn't speak English and could care less about your comfort, this is the place for you. Oh, if you like being approached in the parking lot by drug dealers, you'll probably want to stay another night. I travel extensively and have stayed in many, many motels...this place ranks as the NUMBER 1 worst. This place is so bad, that I have filed a complaint with both the BBB and the Ocean County Health Department. In addition, the Point Pleasant police were informed about the parking lot activities and I was told they are very well aware of what's going on there
If you decide to stay here after reading this and the other negative reviews, just remember, you've been warned. You'll get no satisfaction if you complain because the staff forgets English at that point.

Upon arrival the attendant did not greet us he said nothing and walked right past us and led us into the office without a word and proceeded to close the office door in my husbands face when he was clearly following us in....We should have known right there it was going to be bad but we gave it a shot anyway. Even though there was garbage EVERYWHERE we didn't expect for a bag of garbage to greet us when we got to our room door. We reluctantly dropped off our things and decided to head to the pool where we were greeted by a closed sign...one of the year round occupants let us know us know that the town had closed it down...when i questioned the attendant he told us that the town closed it 5 days ago and are yet to return to test it again.....The refrigerators didn't work and started to leak water .....After less than a hour we had enough busted out the laptop found a new place, got our money back and were out of there ...We couldn't bring ourselves to stay there....FIND SOMEWHERE ELSE to stay even if its a little more money its worth it trust me
