“Quick Family Getaway”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 1, 2014

Awesome! I'd give it 6 stars if I could!! We were looking for a clean quiet motel with no worries and this far exceeded our needs. Everyone we met there was helpful and knowledgeable of the area and we were able to use the pool and beach passes on the full day of check in and check out! A definite bonus with kids! Short walk to the beach and boardwalk. Stewarts restaurant within a block. With light sleepers who need their rest it was nice to have a family atmosphere rather than a party location. The motel was beautiful and we would highly recommend Surfside Motel!! We will definitely stay here again!

I have lived in NJ for most of my life and have spent a great deal of time at the shore. When people used to ask me for a good place to stay I laughed and said there is no such animal. The motels are mostly dirty, loud and in very poor repair. Then I stayed here. It is very clean and everything worked. The owners obviously care very much and work very hard. So now I can finally recommend a motel at the shore, if we could only find a decent restaurant in The Poconos.

Great family run place. Only a few blocks from the beach and about 1/2 mile from the Boardwalk attractions. Me and the 9 year old walked easily there and saw many families doing the same. Sparkling clean facilities, pool was great!!
There are plenty of places to eat within waling distance, Stewarts, Wharfside Resteraunt, Lighthouse Italian Ice.
Free Beach passes, mini, fridge, ice machine and a soda machine on premises. 7-11 a quick ride up the road.

The owners obviously take great pride in the motel. Not only were the rooms very clean, but all the common areas were in great shape. We were staying with family in a few separate rooms so we would gather in the common areas. There is a second floor patio area that was great to read and get sun. It had about 10-12 very comfortable lounging chairs. The pool is small but very well maintained. It has a single row of lounge chairs around the perimeter. Outside the pool fence, they had 3 clean picnic tables with umbrellas that were great for gathering our family to play cards, chitchat or eat pizza.
It is 3-4 blocks to walk to the beach. There are restaurants within walking distance in all directions from the motel. We came in by train from New York and the station is about one mile away (not easy walking distance).
The bed was firm but obviously new and comfortable. 5-6 pillows were provided for our one king bed. There is not a closet but a hanging rack that was good enough. Our air conditioner worked well. The walls are very thin and we could hear people in neighboring rooms. However the air conditioner had a fan that could be turned on and provided effective white noise. We slept great.
I want to give special thanks to the owner who helped us solve a little problem one evening. We purchased tickets online for Six Flags for the following day. The tickets had to be printed out. They offered the use of the office printer but our laptops were incompatible with their printer. The owner graciously allowed us to email the tickets to him and he printed them for us. Mind you, this was in the evening after the office was officially closed. A big thanks for going above and beyond to help us out.
I would definitely return to this hotel for a future stay.

This is a perfect place for families! It was quiet and very clean. The management has strict rules, which are perfect if you want to avoid being woken up by late night parties and unregistered guests. They provide beach passes, access to the ice machine, parking, and pool use- even on the day you have already checked out! They were so helpful in directing us to dinner and breakfast places.

Make sure you order/reserve up in advance. Also, because its a small family run kind of place, get the key early as its close to having a curfew. Clean, nice price for the area, but its location, location, location. Its next to Bakers Restaurant, walk down over the bridge for breakfast on your left--great little kiosk of a place to sit, can't remember the name, walk a block or two further to get to the boardwalk and its requisite tropical bar. And, if your a fisherman, you've got plenty of fishing boats to reserve just a few more blocks over. Gotta love it.

We have been coming to Surfside for many years. It's wonderful! Everything is so cheery and bright......and spotless! Now, thanks to Sandy, the entire place has been remodeled. All new furnishings, new pool and deck, all new outdoor furniture. It's such a pleasure to check in and, have staff (Barbara) remember you by name and ask about other family members who also stayed there. As a bonus, the motel provides beach passes if you're interested. Free parking on premises. VERY family friendly and affordable! See you all next time!

Room Tip: There's also a Jacuzzi room ...............ask in advance.
