We wanted to spend a nice weekend with our children and grandchildren and found that the Sand Pebble Motor Lodge was way way over priced. Beds were uncomfortable, bedspread had stains, bathrooms were disgusting, shower doors were broken and there was a bug crawling on the one pillow. We booked 1 room for 2 nights which had 2 full size beds and another room for 1 night which only had 1 bed. Our bill came out to over $530.00. Do they think this is the Hilton? It was also off season! We will never go back there!

Over the course of a summer we receive almost entirely positive reviews. Our reputation for cleanliness and service is unmatched by any hotel in the area. If mistakes we made with the reviewer's room, then I apologize. However, I feel this review was based largely on a complaint over the price which did not arise until the guest checked out.

The reason why I say this is this guest made very favorable comments to my Assistant manager upon check out. In fact, commenting that they would be back and they enjoyed their stay! However that apparently changed once they received their final bill. Furthermore, this guest stayed two nights and did not bring any of these negative issues to our attention. We pride ourselves on addressing any issues that come up in a quick and professional manner.
As stated before the reviewer wrote this review because they felt they were charged too much for the second room they booked. However they paid $530 for three nights altogether. Before tax that comes out to about $150 per night. That is a highly competitive rate for the festival of the Sea weekend in PPB. In addition, they were notified of the rate before check in!
I also object to the comment about a bug on the pillow. The reviewer's implication being that we have some type of bug issue. The rooms open up on the outside, so when the doors are left open flying insects can enter and land some place in the room. We have no bug issues. we are inspected regularly both by our internal maintenance staff and an outside company. This was merely a harmless insect that entered the room through an open door. Unfortunately, we cannot stop bugs from entering if doors are left open.
Overall, I am very proud of the great response we get from most of our guests. However we do make mistakes. However, if a reviewers complaint is based mostly on price then that should be the substance of the review. This reviewer made no complaints while they were a guest with us. In fact they made very favorable comments while on the premises. This reviewer has simply embellished and exaggerated complaints in order to make their point about the price.
