Stayed at The Crossings with wife and 2 children for the first few days of Sep.
Check-in was quick and pleasant. The front desk staff was very friendly. Lobby could use a fresh coat of paint and some updating. Went to our room and was very disappointed. Walls were dirty and there was a hole in the wall by the small closet. The place did not seem full, so I went back to the front desk and asked if there was another room to see. Staff was accomodating and gave me a key to another room on 3rd floor. This room was in better condition.
The rooms at The Crossings are rather small. 2 beds, small kitchenette, and bathroom. Simple furnishings. It may be better if one of the beds was replaced with a sofa or pull-out bed to have additional move around space. Carpets could be replaced.
We did like the quiet location. Away from the crowded boardwalk area, 3 blocks from a great beach, with a Wawa, Acme, CVS, bike rental, restaurants, park, and ice cream shop all a short walk. Pool was clean and refreshing.
I believe The Crossings has much more potential. It looked to be about the only motel away from the boardwalk for the people that prefer less crowds and noise. Give the outside some new paint, replace the old Crossings Motor Inn signs with signs that just say The Crossings, fix up the lobby, and fresh paint for the rooms that are in need and this place would be a real winner.
