I stayed at this B & B for 3 nights in July. I am writing this review because the reviews on this B & B are positively glowing and I feel it is important to understand that this is a good B & B for the Jersey Shore, but if you think you are going to find luxury accommodations in Ocean City you will be disappointed.
First, I must complement the staff they do go out of their way to accommodate their guests. They do a great job and are always available.
The B & B itself is an older home that is clean. However the rooms have not been updated, maybe ever and there are maintenance issues. Specifically, I was in both a regular room and in the family suite and there were issues in both bathrooms. The water in the shower in the family suite backs up and at the end of your shower you find yourself in half a tub of water. There were also issues with the toilet and shower in the other room. I also noticed that the décor in the rooms was old and in some cases really needed to be upgraded or repaired. Bedspreads are really old and the sheets we slept on were wrinkled, which may not seem like a big deal if you are at your own home, but at a hotel or B & B the bedding should be in new condition and not a wrinkled mess.
For breakfast there was always pancakes or French toast made to order and I saw the innkeeper make eggs for someone upon request. There was always plenty for breakfast but nothing is freshly baked, the pastries are all store bought from Costco. There is free Wi-Fi at this & B and it seemed to work no matter where I was in the building.
I think this is a good alternative if you are only going to be in town for a few days and need a convenient place to stay (it is a block from the beech and the board walk) but the accommodations are very basic.
