This has to be the WORST hotel. They tried to give me a smaller room at chk in. Restrooms were nasty, & I believe beds had bedbugs. Front office didn't care, & were rude. Couldn't cancel, was pre-paid. GO ELSEWHERE, don't be conned. I work for the govrmnt, & am telling everyone about this SLUM.

Great stay if you want to go to new york city. Hotel was clean, breakfast in hotel was good.
If you want to visit new york city it is cheap to stay hear appose to staying right in new york city. Very easy to get into new york for $2.50 per person , just ask front desk where to walk up street and take transit in. It is very safe. We took the bus during the day and late at night.
We will go stay there again if I go back to New York City. Which we will because New York city is awesome so much fun.
Have Fun.

My mom and I stayed here for four days Sept. 2010. Another reviewer suggested that we request for the 7th or 9th floor (newly renovated rooms). Our request was honored and our room was lovely. In fact the stay was very pleasant but for the shuttle service.

We arrived at LaGuardia Airport. The shuttle will not pick you up from LGA and cabs from there to NJ were $80 and up. Therefore in order to get to the hotel, you must get to Manhattan either by cab or subway and catch the hotel shuttle at 8pm, 9pm or 10pm. Be aware that if you arrive in NYC anytime before 8, 9, or 10, you and your luggage will have to find something to do until the shuttle arrives.

The pick up spot is 42st and 7th next to Red Lobster. When the shuttle arrives, however, you still may not get on. Hotel guest purchase return trips before they leave the hotel and the shuttle drivers will accommodate them first. Even if you tell them that you've just arrived from the airport. Be sure to have a copy of your hotel reservation to show them. To add to the confusion, there's usually about 40 people waiting to catch the shuttle. Almost every night the driver showed up in a van only capable of carrying 25 people!!! This honestly happened 3 of the 4 nights I was there!!! So be aggressive once it shows up. If you don't make it you'll have to wait for the next one.

Once on board, you will have to pay to get to the hotel - $6 per person one way. The next morning you can purchase round trip shuttle service to and from Manhattan for $12 per person. In the morning it leaves at 8am, 9:30am and 10:30am. Sometimes the shuttle is waiting in the front of the building and sometimes it's on the side. You never know and you must keep watching if you want to get on.

Also, if you have an early flight, like I did, you must schedule shuttle service 24hrs in advance. For one to two people leaving the hotel and going to LGA it is $80. Sometimes they charge an extra $10 if it's before 7am. Be sure to get the name and phone number of the driver, because they often times over sleep and forget about early pickups. Our driver was a little late, so the hotel clerk called him repeatedly until he answered. Luckily we still made our flights on time.

One night, after seeing a play, we missed all shuttles. We had to go to the Port Authority, and catch a shuttle from there to NJ ($2.50 per person). It dropped us off in the middle of nowhere and we caught a cab to the hotel. As it turned out, we had been dropped off maybe a half a mile from the hotel, but in order to get to it, we would have had to walk down hill, through a dangerous looking neighborhood, through and alley (no joke) and across the street to get to the hotel.

Bottom line: If you are staying in Manhattan, stay in Brooklyn if you are looking to save money. You can catch the subway and the cabs are much cheaper!!! None of them want to pay the toll for going to New Jersey!!!

They have mice. Checked in at about 10pm and by 11pm we were running out of the room because we saw a mouse scurrying across the floor. They did offer us a new room but who in their right mind would stay there after seeing a mouse? We left for another hotel. Overall, terrible experience.

Stayed again at this hotel, after 2 years, in a different floor 10th. The room is cozy and clean, with free Wi-fi. I must also mention that front desk staff is very helpful.
The shuttle service to NYC has been raised to USD6,00 each way, which may become expensive if you use it everyday, considering 2 or more people in roundtrip journeys.
But you can also get local buses to reach NYC, since there's a bus stop near the hotel.
I did not try the restaurant at the rooftop (indian cuisine), but I was informed that they do not sell any liquor (not even beers!!!). So be prepared!

The hotel itself and room looks decent but located in a run down industrial area. First complaint, we arrived slightly after 3:00 pm for check in and our room was not available for us, had to wait 30 minutes in the lobby. Second, the room and bedding smell MUSTY and we saw several flies and fruit flies in the room. Third, housekeeping: there had been a diryy q-tip typing beside one of the bed during our entire 5 night stay. The last day, we returned with no coffee, no washcloth, 2 bath towels instead of 4 and no extra toilet paper. . When I called front desk, he told me he can't do anything for me because he was alone at the desk. Also when we returned back to the room that night, the key card did not work and had to wait 15 minutes for front dest to re-activate.

When I made the reservation at the 1 800 Days Inn, I was told there would be a free complimentary breakfast, there was no such thing.

Overall, the service at this hotel was HORRIBLE. I guess you get what you paid for. Will never stay at this place again!
