We booked a room at this hotel on the recommendation of the forum on TA and regretted doing so. To begin with there is NO advantage to being on the airport site....walking is impractical and one needs a shuttle. We checked in on Friday evening and were told despite having written confirmation that we were 4 adults in the room it had only 1 bed. No two-bed rooms were available...the receptionist politely offered to send a cot up which we appreciated. We decided to immediately go off site for dinner as we were hungry and it was 8:00 pm. We had dinner and got back at 9:30 pm. There was no cot in the room as promised. On calling down to the front desk the person on the other end was clearly not happy, curt and rude by saying the staff were busy and would get to it when they did. At 10:30 pm there was no sign of a cot. Another call was made and this time the person at the other end seemed to be in a better mood and essentially said "Right away" Well this was fiction at best and we did not see a cot. Our choice was to call again and make a stink but my wife dissuaded me as we had an early morning flight and she did not want anger and frustration to keep me up all night.The other issue we had was on checking in we were informed contrary to our expectation the parking fee would be $36 a day for the 2 days we would not be registered guest. Now let me get this straight-the advertised parking of $20 a day at an Airport Hotel is only for the time one is a guest!! The rest of the time one is gouged an extra $16. Why the heck does one stay at an airport hotel? Because one is traveling by plane and cannot take their car with them. So to repeat I would not stay at this hotel ever again. Stay at one of the hotels where parking is included for the next several days at a reasonable rate. Taking the shuttle means a hotel 5 miles away will be cheaper, quiter and take the same amount of hassles and travel time

As others have mentioned, this is a great airport hotel. Nice rooms (very quiet) and great amenities throughout the hotel. We had concierge level access which allowed us to get snacks and dessert in the pm and a good breakfast in the am (hot and cold choices available) - Reception staff was warm and welcoming and housekeeping did a good job too. This was the second time we have used this hotel (first time was in 2002) so I'm impressed that they can keep their standards so high. A deserved "number 1" TA rating at Newark!

However it would be nice to be able to walk to the hotel (stretch your legs after a long trip) but so far, this is not possible (at least not with large luggage). If you're arriving at terminal B, the hotel is right in front of you but 'out of easy reach'! To catch the hotel shuttle go downstairs (from the arrivals gate) where you will find the transportation area (near the "Silver Lounge" for Silverjet) - this area is well signposted. Use a free phone to call the hotel and ask them to send the shuttle. Walk out to the front of the terminal and turn left then keep walking to the end of the terminal bus stops - there IS a Marriott Shuttle sign attached to the railings but you need to look hard for it! (And unless you come out of the terminal exactly opposite the railings you are unlikely to see it - perhaps this is something the hotel could change?).

The cheapest flights down to Florida lately (for us) seem to be out of Newark Airport. The Marriott has the Park and Fly option that is just pain-free. No worries. No headaches and definitely no dirtiness! Our room was spotless and comfortable. Our flight was early so we missed breakfast, so I’d say if they served breakfast a little earlier, this would be the ultimate. I’ve done park and fly before in Newark and I’ve stayed in a horrible hotel. The Marriot is the only way to go.

It's been a few months since we stayed here, but we still haven't forgotten our 7 hour layover at this hotel. We were traveling overseas with our young son and needed something to do for a long layover before an even longer 2nd leg of our trip. We contacted the hotel directly, explained our situation, and were able to get a special rate. We just wanted a quiet place to relax, maybe have a swim, shower, bite to eat, etc.... the staff was so friendly and accomodating. They even sent a special amenity to our room. It was just what we needed to refresh our minds and bodies!

They really went the extra mile here and we will never forget it.
