Harrison, the Bell Captain from the Hilton Hotel suggested the Spanish Tavern. The Spanish Tavern offers complimentary pick and drop service. I "trip advisor" this place and saw the high ratings.
Paul picked us up and suggested the pork chops. He said everything at the place is great.
We are dressed very casual and we enter a dining room of white tablecloths and very nicely dressed tables. But they welcome us so that we feel very comfortable.
We are served complimentary soup - rich beef broth with kale? and some beans. Delicious.
We had the green salad - skip it. It's something you can have anywhere.
I had the portobello mushrooms in garlic sauce. The sauce was incredible. It's my absolute favorite.
Bert had the fried calamari - it was lightly breaded, not oily, and just wonderful.
Ron and Gordon had the pork chop served with mashed sweet potatoes and greens w/bacon. It was a thick pork chop, perfectly seasoned - juicy and delicious. Our server suggested we order the chop rare or medium rare. He was right on. The sweet potatoes were delicious with some heat. Everything on our plates was just so wonderful. Different flavors that we all enjoyed.
Our meal also came with Portuguese rolls (similar to ciabatta rolls), spanish rice, and HOMEMADE potato chips. The rice was okay and the rolls and chips were perfect.
The service is excellent. They're always making sure everything is perfect.
I love everything about this place. If you can't decide where to go, take a chance like we did and go to the Spanish Tavern. You will love it!!!!
