“How can I not give them a 5”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 20, 2012

Ok lets just say You will never find a better place. There are over 5 "Spain'S" in Newark but HONEY........ this is it! I have been a regular for over 10 years. Still to this day it is "THE" best restaurant I have ever stepped foot into. I'm not here to sell this place to you. When you experience it for the 1st time it will wow you so I am not worried. The staff is EXCELLENT just as much as the food.

Apollo, Miguel and Augustine are the freakin' best! Never served without a smile. I am well taken care of and everything is always on point. Even when you dont like what you order they will change it with no hassle. But there is nothing you will not like so dont worry about that.

The facility is directly across the street from Newark's City Hall and the Police department. So dont be scared. lol! About a 5 minute drive from the airport area for all those whom maybe traveling. Also the bus stops right the the corner where the restaurant is located. I recommend that ALL try this place out. They always have specials and if your money is low no problem. For as low as $6.95(fried chicken basket) you will be stuffed! Most specials are priced at $8.95 for us that are really on a budget. :)

Also if your are having a party for 20 or more(up to 135) you can book the upstairs room(s) to suit your needs. That menu starts at $19.95 to 26.95 per person. BUFFET style. You dont even need a DJ. They have a state of the art sound system for your all for free. All you need is your Ipod, MP3, Mp4, or some good ol' cd's and it will be just as good. Im telling you all this place is AWESOME!!!

I recommend the Jumbo Grilled Shrimp, Pork Chops Extrema, Chicken Cutlet in Garlic Sauce, Shrimp in Garlic, Paella, Fried Chicken, Lobster, Collard Greens, Oh yes they make that to. lol! sh** everything you get my point. lol! Enjoy

Thankx guys for making my Class Reunion a SUCCESS!!!! <3

“AMAZING Food!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 3, 2010

If you want great food - Chateau of Spain is the place. Other restaurants in Newark just don't compare. I've been there several times for Lunch and Dinner as I live and work close by. Our family always goes for birthdays, anniversaries, and other special events and Chateau never fails to please.

“Great Food”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 13, 2010

On a cancel flight in Newark Liberty Airport due to weather, was recomended to go to Chateau for something to eat. It was a great experience. The restaurant is located in the downtown City of Newark easy access from the airport by public transportation, only a five minute ride from the airport. The food was great, Spanish, their shrimp in garlic was out of this world, the best Spanish Sangria I've had.

“Great Spanish food”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 9, 2009

Chateau of Spain Restaurant
Great Spanish, Portuguese and AMerican food in the downtown greater aerea of Newark, NJ.....Great location near Penn Station, 10 minutes easy commute by train, taxi or public transportation from Newark Liberty International Airport, a block away from the Prudential Center.
The shrimp in garlic sauce is to die for and the sangrias are great and refreshing.
The ambiance is great, they have both casual dinning and a more elegant dinning.
I give it a thums up.
